would have been alot cooler if in the ending from the ashes of a ruined earth a single seedling emerges from the ground then another than another till a sea of green is revealed
I like the ending of this movie, but I don't think the two children are the only children that were chosen to survive and be the new "Adam and Eve" b/c if you notice at 4:11 there seems to be dozens of ships just like the one that dropped them off. Kind of sucks though. Kind of forcing the kids to love each other and start a new race, like what if they don't like each other like that?
i liked this ending but i think it would have been better or more realistic if it had said like 5 or 10 years later and their like teenagers and know alot about living and their minds been evolved.
This is by far the most depressing movie ending I've ever seen. That's including all the Holocaust documentaries I've watched as well.
What really pisses me off is that this alien species that evacuates the children and a sampling of life on Earth, are apparently advanced and powerful enough to predict the solar storm in the first place... but are too big of assholes to pull the entire species off the planet. Hell, not even all of us. Just the First World nations even.
that planet the kids arrive on looks so empty and boring I think id rather be on Earth with people also that tree looks kind of like the tree of knowledge so perhaps they are the new Adam and Eve for that planet lol
@SuperAlwarda You mean "on" the new planet and you don't need civilisation to survive. Just look at the cavemen, they managed to survive pretty well long before any kind of civilisation existed. We wouldn't be where we are today if they never had the ability to survive, to adapt. And if you noticed, there were lots of those ships landing on the planet's surface, each one with at least two people on board, all the people on that planet could group together to try and form a new civilisation.
@StoneTechnologies Even if you did survive there would be nothing left on Earth's surface. The ozone-layer would have been ripped apart and there wouldn't be any air due to no plant life. Pretty must life the Earth in the early stages of its life. Best just say your goodbyes and then top yourself.
Maybe not even that. All the radiation from the solar flares would photolyse the water vapour. Once the hydrogen is lost to space, any liquid water will vanish with it. With the atmosphere gone as well, Earth would be an airless, barren, waterless and radiation-scorched cinder totally incapable of supporting even microbial life.
@FalseRealityWazHere im sure about illness aliens would have cured everything. about lions well u wouldnt drop them next to each other on a big planet. its like putting a rat and a snake in the same cage.
