@Banderuola66 So you came back for more, did you, Sonja? Well, thankyou! I guess you like watching this video as much as I enjoy watching yours. Oh, and the battery WAS charged, but still no phone calls, because I don't have anyone. No one at all. That's why nobody calls, and that's why I'm Mr. Lonely. If I gave you my phone number, would YOU call me?
Thankyou very much for your nice compliments. I sincerely appreciate them.
Big hugs from Barry, the American living in Norway.
@Banderuola66 Thankyou Sonja. Have you checked your Inbox lately? I sent you a message there several weeks ago and asked you to view my rendition of "Deep in the Heart of Texas". If you think this is funny, you'll really be laughing when you hear that. I even had a false start. I began singing it to the tune of "Rose of San Antone" but I didn't stop, because I was going to purposely screw up the song anyway, just for laughs. I wrote why I did it in its description.
@Banderuola66 Well it's hard to be happy when all the other guys in the platoon have their girlfriends who send them letters, pictures, and cookies, and I have no one, no one to call on the phone, and no one to call my own. I feel SO Lonely!
Thankyou for the compliments and I'm glad you liked it. At least YOU got the joke!
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go back into my corner and be Mr. Lonely again.
@Banderuola66 You just had to come back for more, huh? Well, you must be a glutton for punishment!
I read your comment, so I rushed out to the store before they closed tonight, and bought a multipack of handkerchiefs, so I have plenty to spare, in case you want to come to my table and join me. I did it just for you, honey.
Thankyou very much Bertil. I appreciate your compliments and I am glad you enjoyed your visit. That is a copy of a Gibson, the kind that Chuck Berry used in the 60s. My parents gave it to me in 1967, when I was 12 years old and I like it so much, I am still using it now. Soon, when I figure out how to do pick up the sound like you do, then I'll do some of me singing and playing the guitar. I don't know how to do that yet. Any suggestions?
Well I don´t know yet how to do it how I SHOULD do it. I just record everything with my videocamera and camera- michrofon(not a webcam)Then I load up that videofile in my videoprogram and make a internetfile(wmf)and then I post it to youtube
.I put the speakers close to do camera so there are not so much "room-acusthic"(don´t know if it´s the right word)
Hi ya Barry..Fantastic Performance"So much emotion..and you sang this wonderful song "Brilliant"Well done my friend..100 STARS***********Have a great week..All the best..Brendan
Hi Brendan! I want to thank you for the nice comments and compliments. I sincerely appreciate it very much and I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed hearing this song. You have a great week too. Thankyou very much!
wow this is really good. ha i cant begin to count how many takes i often do before im happy that somethings the way i want it. tbh i usually give up and put whatever version is complete if it gets to 6am in the morning but im totally in understanding with you. 5 ******
Ha-ha. I agree, and I usually do each song in 3-5 takes, but on this one and on my recording of "Tuesday Afternoon"/"Nights in White Satin", they were all stinkers and NONE of them sounded good enough to post. Each one sounded better than the last, which is what kept me going, but NONE were good enough yet. THAT was the FRUSTRATING part!
Thankyou very much for your comments and compliments. I appreciate it and I am glad that you enjoyed your visit.
Good job! The sniffling seemed to be a bit too much, but I understand what you were trying to do with this sad song! This is a tough one with those high notes...cheers!
Hi Dan. Thankyou for your comments. I'm sorry you didn't seem to enjoy your visit, but as Abraham Lincoln said (and I am going to use the word "please" instead of "fool"), "You can [please] some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not [please] all of the people all of the time". Ha-ha! Well, maybe I'll have better luck next time!
The tough part for me was where he is talking about being a lonely soldier. It's kind of a false falsetto.
Fabrizio, my friend! I am very pleased to see that you watched me sing this song! Thankyou for your nice comments and compliments! I appreciate them very much. Grazie Mille!
I`m afraid that I first heard this song as performed by "Akon". Enough to drive anyone to tears! (Incidentally; I think rømmegrot is best with kanel, sukker, og rosiner. Deilig!).
It was very popular when we were kids, Rob. It was co-written by Bobby Vinton and recorded by him in 1962 on his album "Roses are Red" and then when Buddy Grecco took the same backing track and released a single later that year that reached #64, Vinton released it as a single in 1964 and his reached #1, but for only a week when the Supremes kicked it out of that slot with "Come See About Me". "Mr. Lonely" is one of the songs that I used to search all the radio stations for it until I found it.
That was quite a performance Barry! You did a great job on singing this very hard song to sing! It really is a beautiful song! Well done! ... FrAnK (★★★★★)
Thankyou VERY MUCH, Frank! I am honored that you, such a good singer, would come and watch my performance and give me such nice compliments. I appreciate your visit, very much, Frank, and I am glad you enjoyed my performance as I do yours.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in America, is it not? I hope you have a happy one! Oh, and don't eat too much turkey, or YOU might get stuffed!
I have only uploaded this song 6 hours ago and already I have more views than I usually get in an entire month, at 28 views, but I only have 4 comments and 4 ratings. It must be the crying. LOL!
If you are wondering why I am crying in this song, please read the description and the comments and my replies below. That will explain everything.
Hi Shelley! Are you going to tell my mommy? You're right, though, but I couldn't go to bed until I got it right, and I kept saying, "Oh, well, one more take and I'll have it. I know I will" and then I worked at it until I fell asleep sitting down while watching the playback. Then I realized what time it was and knew that I needed to go to bed. Ha-ha.
Thankyou very much, Shelley, for stopping by and thanks for the compliment! I sincerely appreciate it.
Well, thankyou, C.W.! It is an honor to see that you found time to watch my song and always a pleasure to watch yours. I appreciate your comments and compliments.
Had fun? I had hours and hours of FRUSTRATION! Ha-ha! But it WAS fun when I finally figured out what was wrong with the song and then did it right!
Thankyou! I consider that a compliment and I appreciate it. Two things I have always wanted to be were to be a singer and an actor, and with YouTube, I can realize both dreams—although my dreams were on a grander scale, but my parents discouraged me from both. Thankyou for watching!
No call on the phone ? Have you checked it the battery is charged ? :))
