Hard to beat that sound they got at the Hut in those days and with primitive equipment by today's standards... Give me that full round sound any day over today's super compressed digital !
@kg4muc AMEN to that. When I produced this record they had an Ampex 2 and 3 track tape machine. I am not sure of this next statement, but I don't think they had DOLBY. Glad you enjoyed the session. Several of the people involved have passed on.
@ockteby Yes and it's left a hole in the music as far as I am concerned. From what I have read and been told they used no DBX in those days at all. Amazing what tight alignment and tape machine service can accomplish :) Great session no question!
nice song , would the song be referring to jellico tn./ky. by the way as of oct. you could still see the quonset hut from the back parking lot. love that place.
This was a song written about me when I was working at a radio station in Kentucky .I never produced a hit record, but I came close, but close only counts in hand grenades and hors shoes. One guy whose record I produced became a famous Nashville composer and writer. Dean Dillon

That's another good one Frank. I like the rhythm. Did Kentucky D.J. go onto record more songs or become well known?
