Matt Lincoln defined the 1970's. Vince played a psychiatrist that ran a walk-in clinic and a telephone hotline for troubled college age kids. It was the first series to deal with emotional issues in an adult manner. There are 16 episodes plus the pilot film Dial Hot Line, Universal owns it. Here is there e-mail address USHE.consumerrelations@bydeluxe.com Universal sometimes license their shows to shout!factory info@shoutfactory. Ben Casey is owned by Paramount studios. Thanks.
@hippiegirl58 . Thank you hippiegirl58 for working so hard to get both BEN CASEY and MATT LINCOLN out on DVD . Hope to see these dreams come true in the near future !!!
@oceandiver75 You are welcome. I just hate the hypocrisy and replies I get from distributors regarding the release of Vince's two tv series. Your tribute is a testament to how missed and beloved Vince is. It is time distributors heed the public's call and release his series. No more delays. They can be released MOD (Manufacture on Demand) this is what Warner Archives sometimes does. Warner Archives understands that people want to see these old shows again. and make the supreme effort.
Thank you for all you beloved thoughts about Vince. I am thrilled I am not alone. I literally have been e-mailing distributor for over a decade to release both his tv series, Ben Casey and Matt Lincoln. Matt Lincoln is not well known because ABC stupidly aired his series at 7:30. Can you believe it? I have never heard of a drama series airing at this time. It was never given a chance in a normal timeslot just chancelled and replaced at 8:00! with Alias Smith and Jones.
anyone else think there is a strong resemblance to Mark Ruffalo? Vince Edwards was without doubt the best thing about American telly. True one of a kind.
Well spacepatrolman or should I say space cadet so glad that you took the time to post your comments about BEN CASEY it lets people know what little knowledge you have about the subject and to just ignore any pearls of wisdom that you wish to relate in the future. At least Vince was honest about his faults just another reason why he is still admired. If you can't say anything good about a person then say nothing at all more so if the person in question is dead.R.I.P VINCE EDWARDS.
Hi donnelly291 . your comments have really touched my heart . yes, vince was ahead of his time. Brilliant actor, singer , and also director too . Yes, he's missed greatly and loved greatly. Oh how I wish he was still with us .
@oceandiver75 HI thanks for your reply I have managed to obtain one of the contracts he had to sign in order to direct an episode in the Ben Casey series,I will treasure it for ever.I am also having a special mass said for him on his birthday.Vince is walking in heaven and beside us on earth. One thing for sure love cannot die it stays in our hearts for one very very special person VINCE EDWARDS.
@donnelly291 ben crazy mentioned rupert holmes wrote the song and that he was going to be as big as jim webb well that didnt happen holmes did some musicals ben crazy had a problem with compulsive gambling
@spacepatrolman ben crazy learned everything he knew about directing from jerry lewis who acted in an epiosde of ben crazy as a bumbling intern and directed it throughing ben crazy off the set of his own show because he was too beligerant
I think that vince was born before his time he was such a wonderful singer and actor. He was a very gifted person whom I believe could have been brilliant at whatever career he choose thank goodness he decided on acting and singing which brought such pleasure to so many people. You are missed more than you will never know vince R.I.P
Vince, it's so hard to believe it's been 15 years since you left us . How I love you and miss you . And know that you are loved by many and missed greatly
I cannot believe Vince left us 15 years ago today. I am thrilled to see he is still so missed and beloved. Again, distributors wake up, it is time to release both his tv series on dvd. They are Ben Casey and the rare but quality series Matt Lincoln. Rare because ABC aired this drama at 7:30 in 1970. It was never given a chance. RIP Vince.
Wow! I heard this song ONCE when I was a little boy and it stayed in my head. It was on some TV show and for all I know it could have been this one. After all these years, I get to hear it for a second time.
I didn't know if he would sing in this clip but I was hoping he would and bam - there was the song. Interestingly, as an adult I became a fan of Rupert Holmes, the writer of this song - never knowing that he had written this too.
This is rare. Thanks so much for posting this. It shows Vince as the warm, genuine, class guy he is. Distributors take notice! Release his tv series on dvd. Ben Casey and Matt Lincoln. He is so missed and beloved by his fans.
Hi hippiegirl58 . Thank you so much for your comments . YES !!!!!! DISTRIBUTORS WAKE UP !!!!!! We , Vince fans , want his tv shows released on dvd !!!!!!
He gave us fans so much . He and His work deserve to be out on dvd .
