Will this game last much longer, or is it dying out? Been thinking of trying it for some time, but just never gotten around to it, but here we are about 6-7 years later; I have doubts about picking it up and wasting my time on a game that wont be around much longer. i would put a lvl 90 wizard wait scratch that since wow is only 85 so any 85 well geared wizard against any scrub from world of windowlickers against a mage. ill put money down the wizard would whoop the mages ass! WoW graphics are cartoony here in eq not alot of computers can play it on extreme quality if you see it its GORGEOUS high in detail! I played eq2 for 15 mins and i dropped wow like a bad habit i may be on extended and im a noob to it but its HELLA fun wish i played it instead of wow.

He's a Wizard, Wizard's are strong as hell. Their defense is not good, but who really cares when you can mez and blast the enemies, taking them down before you even get hit.

I could take on monsters 5 levels above my Conjuror. Sure, my pet helped, but still. He probably has all Master skills, so the guard wouldn't have been able to resist.

Looks like he mez'd, zapped, repeat. That's easy to do, and it's easy to take them down like that.

I've played everquest and WoW and i have to say that the detail in everquest is much more impressive the spells look so sweet in EQ but not so much in WoW

however i have a lot more fun playing WoW

Yep Wizard is still a good solid class mainly specialising in huge single target damage. I have since betrayed to warlock since making this video and like it a lot. You wont go far wrong choosing either class.

When you get to the server selection screen go for the Antonia Bayle server as its by far the busiest and easiest to find groups on, although the server can be a bit strained at times.

I bought EQ2 to spend some time waiting for WoW to be released. My WoW game is still in plastic. After playing the WoW beta for a day it felt the same for me: WoW felt too cartoony: EQ felt so much better just for the graphics alone. 4+ years later i'm still raiding EQ2 3 nights a week. Did spend another day in WoW, but it didn't seem like i made the wrong choice back then.

Or maybe i did? Maybe the best choice would have been to play neither hehe!

Its called mana-burn. Only for wizards (It's a trait) Takes your mana and turns it into a bad ass attack or spell.

Its not a glitch, but it is a private server where you can amp the damage. I have a wizard that is a spell shifter with plenty of faster-casting type items on to make even slow spells hasty. However, casting manaburn in one second is impossible, and it can only do a maximum of 50% of a total of the monsters life. It is THE strongest spell there is.

As well, he started casting manaburn at 12 seconds, and finished at 17, thats not 1 second manaburn.

You cant get a critical hit on manaburn but it is affected by the freehand sorcery line. The old cap used to be 50% (Think its 40 now) but if you use freehand before you cast you can still add extra damage.

He used mana burn, its a wizard AA tree ability, burns your mana, and at max lvl can do over 80k damage. Used to not really be worth it (to get the most out of it you would either have to blow it at the beginning of the fight, and have no power for the rest of the fight, or use so little power during the fight, and burn it towards the end, which hurt your dps more than not using it), but with RoK and the extra 20 points per tree, it became worthwile.

I was sure that the highest level, for NPC's, were 75. It's pretty cool for a 70 to take down a lvl 100 heroic guard, but it's also unlogical. Must be a glitch in the game

No glitch, everything is percentage based. You always have a chance to hit something no matter how low.

What you don't see here are all the resists I got before I landed that ring of cold. If you have spells that cannot be outright resisted you can do this.
