This post move is not "wrong." This is a drill. The part coach is not telling you is that once you chin the ball you need to take a look inside and see what the defense is giving you. If the move he is showing you is clogged (and it very well might be against a zone or a bigger defender) then you should use your step to go baseline. That's why this guy has more than one short corner video.
This is a definite move you should have in your armory if your a true baller. This is a very powerful move especially for most zones also gets you AND1's. This is the 1st fundamental move a BIG MAN should master. For you guards like myself this works on fast breaks and 1/2 court sets, usually while playing off da ball or penetration from the baseline gets AND1's also. Thats if you got ''DA NUTS'' to take da contact. The master of this move was Kevin McKale. AI, BD, Duncan, Hakeem, KG, TP, Monta
LOL. To all the dudes who said that this move is not important, you are all wrong. This is very useful during fast breaks. Many forwards in the NBA use this move.
that move isnt gonna get you past a defender...that will only work if you already have a clear lane to the basket. worthless video anyone can take a wide open lay up
the only way you'd ever be in this situation is if the defence is completely crap and has no idea where to be. They should never be out of position like that....
when playing in the post or in this case the short corner, you can take one dribble with both hands which is called a power dribble, but you can only do one power dribble. if you look at games its common in post play.
the players should be using their off arm to shield the ball and absorb contact while shooting with the same side hand. they are shooting left hand lay-ups with the right hand.....just an observation
There's no such thing as a "wrong" post move. Anything a player can do to get the ball into the basket when getting a post touch should be attempted.

Good move, especially against a zone where you want to pivot middle and look for a dive, flash, or skip.

This post move is wrong. You should drop baseline, instead of towards the defender. That way the defender has a lower chance of stealing the ball.

that move is useless u will never get past a defender with that, because you are dirbbling right into him..

The pivot should be on the baseline side instead of towards the defender. A spin towrards the defender would give him a chance to steal the ball.
