  • one of the best srv songs of all time i defy anyone not to shake to this

  • Stevie Snacks?

  • Hate you. You make that look easy.

  • Thanks mate. That song was all witchcraft to me before.

  • very good lesson!! really appreciate the time you take for this!!

  • Anthony, just subscribed to your site. I'm only into my 3 yrs of solid playing, come around quickly but still so much to learn. I usually play to CD's and play with others who are good players as I learn fast that way. However, I found this and other videos you do very informative, easy to follow (for slow burners like myself) and the video work allows me to easily see what you are doing. Thank you very much for taking the time to do these.

  • love this lesson!

    thank you so much :D

so you've changed the pick ups on your Kenny Wayne, the news are brighter?

  • one of my favorite SRV tunes. thanks for the lesson. isn't it a triplet on the third note of the main riff? Thanks again!

  • Anthony,

You gotta keep that thumb outa the blender. Great lesson. Minor or Major WTF

    Big Ron

  • Really enjoyable

  • Cool!

    Sore thumb though?

  • as always a great lesson

  • Peasy! Now to actually nail it at tempo with a band. Here comes 1000 reps... :P

  • from france : wonderfull and efficient lesson but jus a question!!! how do u get thsi crasy sound??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent vid, Anthony!

  • I favorite just for the guitar!

  • Are you sure SRV didn't play the minor 3rd instead of the major 3rd in this riff? According to my ear I am pretty sure he's playing minor here. That's 7th fret on the E-string to the 5th fret on the A-string. Maybe I'm wrong.

  • @matsan28 Yeah, over the I chord he would play that note, although with the slightest of bends, 3 frets higher on the low E string. However, I much prefer the sound of the major third in it's place :-). Good ear by the way...I've been playing it this way for so long I forgot that it's not exactly what's on the record.

  • @gr8bluesgtr I understand ;) Keep up the good work. I´ve picked up a lot of tips and tricks from your videos. Love it!

  • @matsan28 "ta ta ta ta tatata ta ta"..... the third part of the second part of the rythem is a triplet im sure of it.... this is killing floor..... theres a triplet in the rythem for suree

  • GREAT lesson! Great song. Thanks for breaking it down for us. Take care of that thumb.

  • The gear I used in this video is listed on the lesson page at StevieSnacks.

    youtube.com/watch?v=HSvU8OXqmzM

  • How do you not have a SRV tat by now?

  • thanks.im off to have a go. r.i.p - s.r.v

  • Another great lesson! Please keep them up, as finding video lessons of this quality is difficult

  • What have you done to your thumb?

  • @santacruezz I cut my thumb-tip nearly to the bone by being an idiot with a razor blade. The bandaid is to hide the hideous stitches.

  • works well hybrid finger pick/puck the high notes. thanx Antony, I now have a new tool in my kit.

  • @bcjoly Yup, a good pluck will make that high E string really stand out on this rhythm :-)

  • why do you tape up your thumb? do you play better?

  • Reminds me of the Ren & Stimpy end theme song

  • Hey Anthony...thanks again for another great lesson.
