  • Thanks my mum did crochet when I was a child she fought me to knit but never to crochet. Now I have a grandchild and want to crochet for her.

  • Thanks for your videos. I learned the chain back when I was 13 years old, my Spanish teacher taught me. But then I graduated elementary school and no one kept teaching me. Now I'm 36, mother of a 2 yr 8 mo. old and a 1 month old girls and want to learn. The only class I could find was over $300, which is extremely expensive with a newborn. I had lost hope of learning when a facebook friend suggested me your videos and here I am. Hopefully I'll be crocheting baby clothes soon. :)

  • Thanks for your response. I love your videos so please keep them coming. I hope you are discovered and given great opportunities!

  • love the tutorial i'm going to give it a try :) thanks for making it <3

  • How many rounds

  • Thanks so much for teaching us! I only know the very, very basics and now I'm making granny squares. I do have a question. At the end of a round, when you attach the last stitch to the first beg three rope d/c, I have a hard time inserting the tip of the needle into that first stitch. Am I maybe not inserting it in the right place?

  • @pdrk797 Yes you are. That stitch is always a little tight. You can use your fingers and pull open the loop a little if you need to. When you make that beginning chain-3, you can try to make it a little looser than the rest of your stitches.

  • These videos are the best ones, the others are too fast and not so well explained. I´m so happy I found your channel 8D

    Subscribing right now!

  • These videos are great....I use to only know how to crochet a chain....haha And my granny square looks like a granny circle.....what am I doing wrong!!!

  • @AmberShell89 Your first round will look like a circle. Mine looks square because I tug on the chains in the corner stitches. This is called finger blocking.

  • Your vedios are so wonderful. I never had anyone(mom or grandmother) who would teach me how to do this. Thank you so verry verry much. Your vedios have really helped mr in more ways than you knw! Thanks a bunch!

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

  • Your stitches are amazingly neat, and your instructions are very easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing your skill with us beginners.

  • You explain things so well and do not go to fast like others . Can you explain the sunrise stich ?

  • @Mshardworker3 I could If I knew what it was! I'd have to see the written instructions first. It may be known under another name.

  • Yes!! Thanks so much!

I watched your second video about ten times to get it, now that i have it its getting much easier! I've made what almost looks like a square :)

    I'm impressed with myself lol

Well.. this is how this 26 year old is going to be spending the rest of the winter!

    Amie from Australia :)

  • Yeayyy i made my first granny square!! with your help. TY TY TY TY With your help its so easy!

  • @tiarebabe Applause! Applause!

  • you are the best thanks such clean stitches just like my auntie and granny used to make!

  • @kikadiva Thank you.

  • Hi. I'm from England uk. I have just come accross your videos. And they are grreat. We have now got our own crochet mag here. But I prefer crochet world. I think in the uk should use the same as USA patterns and symbols. Best of luck. And many thanks. Janet

  • I would like to hire you to oversee my building projects; there is such a level of precision, and attention to detail showcased in this tutorial, along with a confident and steady hand, a level i wish my plumbers, roofers and landscapers would strive for. Imagine if the world were full of knitters and crocheters!

  • @oaney LOL! If I knew a lot about building projects, I might, but If you leave me in charge of that...well...you might have a disaster! LOL!

  • yep easy to understand continue making crocheing videos :D

  • ur video is much eazyier to learn, i have been reading the books, and sometimes they are to confusing to understand, thanks for clearing up on the instrustructions!

  • I'm so glad i found these videos. all i've been doing is straight stitches, and have been looking forward to learning to do more. this is an easy place for me to start, and your videos are great. thanks!

  • why did you turn it over?

  • yes

  • @glensarahs because the hole will be on the left. The stitches fill in to the left.

  • what is your name?

  • Beth

  • this one goes much faster than the other ones and gets confusing

  • I recommend you try my new back to basics video series. It's much clearer on the stitch formations. The second row is slightly faster because the stitches are the same... they are just made in a different place.

  • At work watching during my lunch hour, my cousin and I are learning with our ladies church group as well. I can't wait to go home and make a granny square before our next meeting Thanks Bethintx1

  • Your videos have taught me so much. I am 21 years old, I never did crochet before and now I do! I would like to learn how to make baby clothes and booties; perhaps you can have a video on this. I would like to donate money. What you do deserves it. The Lord says to give honor where honor is due and it certainly is due here !

  • I'm sending you a PM in response. There are several teachers that I adore here on YT that have tutorials for baby things.

No need to make a donation to me. Just make one to your local charity or foodbank. I am a YouTube Partner and I get a little money each month from Google for letting them place ads on my videos.

  • Mine's a little bit uneven but I'm just glad that it looks vaguely like yours! This is fun to make

  • how do i make a blanket???

  • You can make several of these granny squares & join them together or keep adding rows to one granny square.

  • lol this is so awesome

  • This is great! I'm at work watching. I can't wait to try when I get home. If you can before starting, can you show a whole project and what piece we are working on. I like to have a vision! :) Thank you again!!

  • i don't understand, where am i supposed to put the hook in to do the first double crochet?

  • When you turn, the two chains you made to form the corner made a hole. That is where you put your first double crochet on round 2

  • wow this looks hard!

  • Once you get it down, it's easy.

    Keep trying!

  • OK, well, mine WAS a circle, now its a wierd blob...oh well, Im still gonna do my blob!

  • OH! The weird blob! Okay...JK. ;)

If you practice... and count 3 double crochet, chain 2, 3 double crochet (6 dc total) in each corner space. You should do fine.

Experienced crocheters often frog out their work and start over.

    It's called frogging because you "rip-it, rip-it!"

    Keep on trying!!!

  • Well folks! It's finally here! The much awaited lesson 4! I also made a lesson 5 for taking care of the yarn ends, aka tails. Sorry I had y'all wait a whole year! Go to my subscription page, and you can find them there.

  • This lady is wonderful, I have never been able to crochet in my life! PLEASE PUT ON NUMBER 4! I hope you put on many more episodes, with more patterns etc

  • lesson 4 would be wonderful! this is the first thing ive been able to follow while crocheting!

  • Great tutorial BUT these instructions are not correct. Granny squares have a "right" & "wrong" side & should always be worked only from the right side. The "right" side of your work looks nicer. When you start with a chain 3 & turn your work you are making the "right" side the "wrong" side. After joining with a slip stitch you need to slip stitch in the double crochet stitches & corner space moving to the left. Then you ch 3 , work 2 double crochet, ch 2, 3 double crochet in the corner space.

  • The wonderful thing about being creative is there is no right or wrong way to do it. My squares happen to be reversible. I do know how to make them with all of the stitches facing the front side. I also do it without making those unsightly slip stitches across the top of the shell too. So my way is not wrong; it's just different!

  • great videos, thanks for these! please add more (and lesson 4).

  • where is part 4 for the third round???

    good videos by the way

Great video. from Colorado

  • My mom passed away a month ago. She had crocheted blankets for my 3 brothers, but was too sick to finish mine and teach me. I felt like she would have liked it if I could finish it. I had no clue where to begin. Your videos were slow and easy to understand. Thank you so much for posting them, so that I might carry on family tradition.
