  • Thank you to all who put themselves in danger so we don't have to be!!!

  • @texarmy2010 Actually, Canada was in WWI, WWII and Korea. We were in WWII years before the Americans were. Our special forces have served with Seal Teams often and are snipers have won bronze stars protecting American soldiers in Operation Anaconda. The interesting thing is that Canada has commanded American soldiers in Afghanistan. Furthermore, at least one Canadian general has commanded American troops in Iraq. We have been fighting with Americans for over fifty years.

  • we need this in australia. when our dead come back it's to remote airbases with only the press and a few members of there unit to honour their arrival and give the family a sense that the nation shares their loss. so we have nothing like this when our dead come back from afganistan.

  • Thanks very much for doing this, very emotional.

  • Corporal Tyler Crooks will be arriving back in his home town today around 4:30pm. My parents are taking me and my sisters to stand along the street while he comes home.

    R.I.P. Tyler Crooks

  • Did you get to see Tyler Crooks come back home?

Tyler Crooks was supposed to meet Don Cherry at the end of his leave. He appeared on Coach's Corner in a picture back on February 14, 2009 which showed him in combat fatigues with his gun sitting near a cardboard cutout of Don Cherry. I hope that Don Cherry got to go and see him and his family and friends.

  • Yes i did get to see Tyler come home, it was a very emotional bit. Afterwards me and my mother had the opportunity to meet a soldier named Jesse who had been the one to bring Tyler back home safely. Downtown Port Colborne was PACKED it's really good to see how great the community comes together.

  • It's good to see the support. Those of us who live in other provinces are there in spirit as well.

  • Gonna miss ya bud.

  • RIP.

And I really wish we had this sort of support in America.

  • Well you guys really should.

I don't really want to be political on this thread, but Bush thought it was bad PR and, I believe, banned the media from televising this kind of thing :(

With that said we don't only honour these four fallen, but all soldiers who have died in service of their respective countries.

    Honour one... honour all. :)

  • Thank you from those of us who knew Scotty and could not be there. He is truly a hero and he is not here now because God needed another Angel in Heaven.

    Love the Swift Family
