Does this procedure really work, this looks painful, i have sleep apnea and when were were stationed in Miami. The doctors there told me that if the extend my jaw and shorten my tongue it would help. I went for a second opinion and the Doctor told me there was NO 100% guarantees for that. I really hate using my machine it is not attractive at all... You go visit friends and go on vacations and it has to go with you when going to spend the night..

@klarissa5 Everything...if you tongue falls back too far while you are sleeping it can cover your airway causing you to stop breathing while sleeping. Your body will suddenly fight to clear the air way & it action kinda wakes you up. That sudden stopping of breathing is sleep apnea. It can cause a lot of medical problems because you're not getting the proper amount of air to send blood to your brain. Cutting back part of the tongue can prevent covering your airway.
