Hey! Have you tried - fast abs magic (just google it)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my sister got great Six pack abs and lost lots of belly fat with it.
New driver or not, ABS is good for all persons. The ABS pulses on and off to give the tire more traction during braking. The vehicle will be able stop faster because there is more tire slip, which in terms, creates friction that converts kinetic energy into braking and cornering force.
@jrivas356 ABS cannot increase the amount of traction between a tire and the road. ABS does not allow you to stop faster, it allows you to maintain control in a panic situation.
Tire slip (dynamic friction) is the enemy of grip, it does not create more grip.
look, ABS is good for new drivers, but they must be familiar with the Braking system and they must know what to do when ABS is functioning (i mean to steer the wheels in order to avoid the object in the road).
most drivers, expect from the ABS to fully stop the car. NO, ABS is not designed this way....
also, ABS sucks (and it's very dangerous) under snow - mud - sand or any slippery terrain
@gxz100 well i'm sure nobody would reccomend you to do that, but if you think you can stop more efficient in an emergency situation, be my guest. as far as i am concerned, i will keep my abs enabled :)
@tudorgui1992 well, my car is a Toyota auris, and i can tell you that auris ABS is not that good.... without ABS, things are better. But I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND anyone to disable ABS on his car.
also, in other cars, ABS may function in a different way! so it's up to the driver to decide
then behind that all safe blue car........ A TRUCK COMES AND HIT HIM... lol
ABS is very usefull but in tight cornering it doesn't replace the carefull braking, I've already had to break hard on a roundabout and if I didn't eased off the brakes, I would overrun the pedestrian... that way I could escape to another lane... if I trusted in the ABS the car would lose control and hit the person... Nothing in car techology will replace attention and carefull driving.. But they will help somehow...
haha what if theres another car in the other lane??? there goes ur shitty abs. i'll stick with my good old fashioned brakes. if your a good enough driver you gota avoided that without abs.
@FordsRule351 Only a stupid american could say such a thing. That is why the US is light years behind europe in car tech (and always will). And that´s why whoever has money in the US buys european. ABS prevents tires from blocking. Doesn´t mean you must change lane. Dumb ass. It will stop in much less meters. Kid! Continue driving your american ugly old fashioned crap!
@FordsRule351 It is proven for years that in full breaking (no swerving) an ABS car uses much less meters. And then there are other computurized systems to avoid drifting or losing the control on curves etc etc. If you continue to think and act like morons in the US, soon you will be surpassed by the chinese in car making, and that will be the humiliation of the century. Forget about europeans and the japanese and korean who copy them. They are light years ahead.
But what if there is nowhere to swerve to? I'd rather be in the non-abs car then because ABS would just stop you locking and not slow you down as much. In my non abs car i just release the brake pedal slightly til my wheels roll again and then swerve. Not that i do that often, only once. I think ABS is for people who panic and just slam on the brakes. Its quite easy in the 2 seconds of skidding to plan to release the brake if you get so close you have to swerve.
Oh my God. I hate such videos, unless you're stupid, you don't apply full pressure to the brakes in a car without ABS. If you pump the pedal, you can simulate ABS and get the same, or even shorter braking distance.
Unless you have a lot of practice, the natural impulse in an emergency is to stamp your foot down on the brake. Keep in mind that in an emergency, you're making decisions in the 0 to 2 second timeframe, and anything you haven't repetitively practiced will fly out the window and instinct will take over. At most accident scenes (with or without ABS involvement) there is always skid mark evidence that the driver has stamped down on the brake. ABS is designed to compensate for natural instincts.
Does an ABS modulator actually APPLY pressure to a line or does it just exhaust the pressure when lock up is detected?
Does it use the pressure force you have applied at the pedal or is it capable of self generating pressure by way of the pistons in the modulator block?
If I were to inject a signal into an ABS modulator control will it apply the brakes without any pedal input?

bullshit! a experienced driver knows how to stop without the use of ABS.
ABS suck....it's a useless system.....
in my car (toyota auris) ABS is permanently disabled from the fist day since i get it!
gxz100 7 months ago
@gxz100 and may i ask how did you disable it?
tudorgui1992 5 months ago
@tudorgui1992 you have to remove 2 or 3 fusses as far i remember..
a friend of mine, who was expert on Toyota car's electronics do that for me.
the only annoying thing is the ABS warning sign that is always on.

You horrible mother fuckers of Bosch!!
The ABS was not invented by Bosch, it was stealen by Bosch from a great inventor called Olof Tegstrom. He died may 2009, poor and unknow by anyone.
I had the luck to know him, he was a great man, he lived in Goteborg, Sweden.
Honour to him!

@FordsRule351 With ABS the impact will be less severe.

Yeah, and as we know, everyone is a "good enough" driver. ABS is not a shitty system, just like ESP.
@LethalJizzle
As far as I know, locking the wheels is worse, than braking on the treshold from the beginning.
Driving in a non-ABS car can be fun, but open roads are not race tracks, nor rally stages. Stone me.
