Why do people whine about who's better? They work together to do two things: defend the constitution and defend the US's citizens. We shouldn't care whos better or worse. We should care whether or not they are appreciated for their service. Some vets come home and are hated for serving. @djtntblaze Actually the reasoning for the dress uniform changing to blue is for historical reasons. Back in the revolutionary war the service members uniforms were blue. They would take their jackets off while working and the pants would become faded from wear and bleached from the sun. When they would put the coats back on they would be two different shades, hence the difference in color today on the new dress blues.

Thats not really true. YES, you guys do a lot more of combat but, when you or anyone fall behind enemy lines in crashes, hostages, ect , ect. Air Force is who gets you. Pararescue has the highest drop out rate of ANY service or training.

ok guess what. half of you kids dont make it through our screening process... ahh did u know about that? no because only us recruiters get trained in that. the fact is 90% of kids who SAY they want to do it always getting a shitty MOS like food service, WHY? because they sit at home all day and play modern warfare and think its the same. Usually kids like that don't even sign the paper because they know better that there is no respawn and when you're shot it's not "stand still for 3 seconds and you're good to go." People like me who train every day of the week, rain or shine and who've made the commitment long before we turned 18 will be the ones who sign the paper and be the ones fighting. I respect your opinion and I agree not everyone who says they're cut for the military is, but don't slap a label on every single kid.
Besides the camaraderie, spiffy threads and plenty of exercise, the USMC commercials need to include all the paperwork and sitting around you have to do at MEPS.

Regular people can be just as noble, I find that to be judgemental and downright rude. As a marine you should have respect for others as well, dont think you are god just because your a marine, and dont think you should be worshipped. While military personel deserve alot more, especially more then celebrities, you need to realize your still an equal human like everyone else.

Hey i was in 10th grade when i started hearing stories about how awsome the Corps was. Before that time i was intrested in the ARMY. I thought that Marines were the same as the ARMY just less respected. but then my Dean started tell us his experiance in the Marines so did my Guidance Councilor. Thats not really true. YES, you guys do a lot more of combat but, when you or anyone fall behind enemy lines in crashes, hostages, ect , ect. Air Force is who gets you. Pararescue has the highest drop out rate of ANY service or training.

why do kids always think they are even going to make it into the marines? we have high standards and we dont let anybody join. even with the wars now, infantry jobs are GONE. billets filled. if you want to join and live in NYC why dont you grow some balls and contact me. please, no immature call of duty players and you MUST have a HS diploma.

Usually kids like that don't even sign the paper because they know better that there is no respawn and when you're shot it's not "stand still for 3 seconds and you're good to go." People like me who train every day of the week, rain or shine and who've made the commitment long before we turned 18 will be the ones who sign the paper and be the ones fighting. I respect your opinion and I agree not everyone who says they're cut for the military is, but don't slap a label on every single kid.

guys just to be honset, dont believe everything the commercials say, ive read many books about the gulf war and marine training, your gonna love marine boot camp, but later you will realize not all marines are so noble as your are taught at paris island,and at one point or another you might even hate the marines for all the BS, its not always wat it seems, im just giving u a heads up, and im joining too

There's a difference between "hearing and reading" and "going and doing"... no, not every Marine is as "noble" as our core value training strives to achieve, but it's all what you make it. For those of us who truly embrace it, it is a lifestyle that only a Marine can truly understand. Don't give "advice" before you have the experience to back it up... and you don't join the Marines, you become one

Regular people can be just as noble, I find that to be judgemental and downright rude. As a marine you should have respect for others as well, dont think you are god just because your a marine, and dont think you should be worshipped. While military personel deserve alot more, especially more then celebrities, you need to realize your still an equal human like everyone else.

Hey i was in 10th grade when i started hearing stories about how awsome the Corps was. Before that time i was intrested in the ARMY. I thought that Marines were the same as the ARMY just less respected. but then my Dean started tell us his experiance in the Marines so did my Guidance Councilor. Then My health teacher brought a guest to the class. D.I Dan I belive. he told us more Info. Man i get ready becuase time is gonna fly. But you might have 2nd thoughts by then just like im having. be sure
