You are an excellent pianist but maybe you didn't know about the problematic tempo correlations in this piece: Debussy played bar 7-12 and 22-83 in double speed! The quarter notes of the beginning have exactly the same duration as the half notes of bar 7 etc.
Following Debussy's playing would enable you to play the beginning really "profondément calm" as indicated, and to keep a stable tempo at the crucial transition from bar 21 to 22 etc.
I have always loved that piece. It has always made me cry. I just seem to go away to another place above and beyond this earthly plain. Thank you! It was beautiful!
jajaja nche vato!!! esta bueno eso de las octavas lisztianas. gracias por pasar ca. luego hablamos por que quiero que haya conecciones a algunos otros videos que voy a subir. saludos!
The opening speed is a bit fast for me, but once you get into the groove it gives the piece great drive. Overall the sense is of composure and lucidity, without the self-pity found in some great French interpreters. The bit around 3:55 is very difficult to maneuver--it shows a little, but you do a wonderful job leading out of it with the bass trill. I'm not sure about the last recapitulation that accompanies it. It seems unsure, slightly, but this leads to a truly beautiful ending sequence.

you play well technically but I don't really see the cathedral underwater in all of its gloom in your playing.

Very nice.:) If you play music from Book II, I hope you share it - especially "Feux d'Artifice" and "Ondine".
