The Caprice had a few lighting options rolling out of the factory, one was the spotlights dual single or none, second was the option “6j6 Lights-Rear Panel” two 4 inch red lights mounted behind the rear seat and these lights function as auxiliary turn signal and stop lights (Taxi’s), and another light option “T53 Lights-Trunk Lid Warning” two 4 inch red lights mounted on the underside of the deck lid and would turn on when the trunk opened. 1/2
My car didn’t come with those two options, any other lights were installed by the agencies to their preference of what kind of warning lights they wanted. On my car none of the lights were left in it when it was retired so I reinstalled and installed lights that weren’t originally on the car. For example my car didn’t originally come with strobes or the arrow stick. 2/2
i really want me a police cars a friend of mine told me about they auctin off some of their cars but he didnt know where i stay n alabama if ne 1 could help me or can tell me where n when to get one from
They are made "Code 3" and were actually made to go on the boxy caprice bumper, but the way the original bush bars were on my car this push bumper fit perfectly I just had to drill new holes.
Thanks, but nope I have it set up like this for car shows and occasionally use them for traffic control if I come up to an accident and no police are on the scene yet. Ive used them for a few accidents so far and I havent been questioned yet about it.
But what kind of arrowstick is it? I'm looking for one, and I love the one on your car in this vid! (Nice caprice, BTW. I personally are a FCV fan, but I like the Caprice too.) Did you pay a lot of money for it??
Im not sure what company made this arrow stick it has no marking inside or out, its what Portland police had in their cars in the 90s. It has halogen bulbs with the end bulbs removed and strobes installed, and the control pack for it is from Code3. Other than that I dont know much more about it. Ill have to record a video of just the arrow stick and maybe someone will recognize it.
But thanks I drive a CV P71 for work, they drive easier but I like the looks of the Caprice much better than the CVs. I didnt pay too much for it about $1800 for the car and Im not sure how much Ive thrown in for the equipment.
Dang bro you got a good deal. I have a P71 and its like the opposite for me, because I think the CV is slightly more appealing but to each is own, I always like the caprice too so, hah, you know..
Yours is pretty nice like I said I really like the arrow stick, Hey, did you buy the car with the wig-wag headlights already, or they were in and you had to re-hook them up yourself, or did you have buy them seperate??
The only things the car came with was the spotlight, a different set of push bars and the antennas everything else I bought installed and wired. The only wiring I could find from its service days was where they cut the wires for the headlights to install the wigwags, they removed everything else.
yah i remember these back in da day i'd say most cities we're ordering them for units between 1991-2000 some we're introduced in 1990 as 1991 model years this one looks a 1993,1994
Beautiful chevy caprice man, I love those!! Gr8 lights too, I dig the decklights and all the strobes :D Gotta love the bull bar on the front too. 5 stars!
I live in Portland Oregon and here I could have a light bar and decals, except in Gresham just east of Portland that has a city ordinance that I could not drive with a light bar on my car. Gresham Police even went as far as cutting the light bar off of a security car and keeping it.
It's legal just as long as I'm not driving on public streets with them on (off road only), so if I'm on private property or a private road I can drive with them on.
is there any sirens?

Does every 9c1 have this light flash feature or did you install it yourself?

I bought it from a private seller who bought it from an auction in Salem Oregon.
