  • can you imagine that there are some people that think Eric Clapton is a great guitar player even after hearing this guy??

  • Here's my GT-10 plugged into the return of my VHT combo.

    /watch?v=PIrPqafAh2Q

I love the direct tone. But really wanted to use an amp with it. It seems to work pretty well.

  • In my opinion, I prefer the boss than line 6 for the principal guitar, the me 70 and gt 10 have an amazing sustain and beautiful bost

  • NASTY...

  • Amazing playing. Amazing Hair.

  • MARCEEEELLLLOOOOOO! YEAAAAAHHH

  • esse cara é demais quero conhecer o trabalho dele quem souber mais por favor postem links

  • His playing is very nice; reminds me a lot of John Petrucci's stuff, and some old Paul Gilbert. Also, his hair looks like spaghetti :D

  • @valinhorn42 the top of his head should be red, like marinara sauce

  • 3:56 has to be the most amazing harmonic run EVER!

  • The main riff is amazing!

  • very clean and awesome!! one word: BEAST!!!!!

  • really like this guys technique and music. I hate it when they put guys up there that cant play. this guy rocks

  • God there are so many great guitarists - and rob is one of them

  • I know if I can mimic sounds of other instruments in the gt-10,

    piano, strings, sax ...

  • Sounds fantastic, I wish I could play like that!

  • he has played this song in other videos of the ME series of pedals from boss i think the me-20

  • tabs or backing track??

  • i have a marshall mg 250 a and im confused if i should buy a pod x3 live or the gt-10, i want to play grindcore, hardcore etc help pls

  • Cool! - suddenly it's 1988 again!

  • Why is there no tab for this song??

  • what amp r u usin here?

  • @jesterraj jesus christ u must be the smartest at home

  • i know that the GT has more features and what not, but im looking to buy the ME 70 or 50 and i want to know is there any difference in the sound quality between this and the ME series?

  • @rhysrox15 no at least I havent noticed. Maybe I need to check my ears

  • Rob Marcello kicks your ass

  • Great demo ! (you definitely wanna pull the plug every once in a while, being on DC on a constant basis isn't meant for humans... :o) )

The product is really appealing, but for an amateur like me, and with the budget I have, I'd rather consider a second-hand ME-70. Would be a good start anyway, woudn't it ? ...

  • @doublespy33

go with the me 25 it kicks ass and its 100 bucks cheaper and has same effects as the me-70

  • insane riffage!!!O_O

  • hey guys.. pardon my ignorance..

whats the difference of boss ME and this GT??

    besides the looks..

    which is the best??

  • The ME series is basically a smaller version of the GT series. The ME's are generally aimed at people who want a good multi-effects unit, but are on a budget. The GT series has way more stuff to play with such as amp models, effects patches, choruses, whammy settings, etc. I'd definitely go with the GT if you can afford it. I've got the GT-8 (which was replaced by the current GT-10) and I love it!

  • thanks for the info dude..

    GT's are great..

but i think ME's suits my budget..

  • @althegreat17

    the gt is newest :)

  • @wusaki768 Different class. Its like a 30 w amp and a 120 watt amp

  • hi ive got a gt 10 and a vox vt30 which does not have a aux in jack therefore how do i connect my ipod/laptop to play jam tracks, any ideas out there please

  • Sounds just like every other shredder out there.

He has no signature style or tone. Brian May, Jeff Beck and Eric Johnson just to name a few. Don't get me wrong, he is pretty amazing. Kind of like watching someone type really fast. LOL

  • @blakhaus bit harsh to say that, and he is an extremely versetaile guitarist, has very good chordal knowledge, and jazz knowledge and is extremely underated

  • how do u know what he is feeling when he is playing???????? feeling isnt jst playing slow and blues bends? there is heaps of feeling aggression, power, frustration etc... not having a go at ya, but there is heaps of ways!

  • Well said man. Way to keep an open mind. Music is like language. Just because it's inflected in different ways doesn't make it less dynamic in terms of message.

  • @joelkleber I agree with what your saying but generally it doesn't matter what we the musicians feel when we are playing or even wrote a certain piece its about how it comes across and the feelings it evokes in other people. The way it makes people feel when they hear it. I am not a big fan of 80 or 90's shred but he's a good musician but I agree there is not too much feeling to this playing. Jimmy herring thats a player with feeling.

  • how much is a boss GT-10????

  • 500 bucks U.S currency.

  • 500 dollars brand new its a good deal just think about it shitload of effect+looper+whay pedal+ wammy pedal+ and more

  • I'm not keen on using effects processors for distortion, just sounds so weak. Rob is a guitar god, way up there with the best in the world. Mind blowing guitarist. There is a much better example of this song at watch?v=-XX4TR5R5og

  • suhr yeah !!!

  • I have zero experience with the gt-10 but are the patches interchangeable on the boss gt-8 and gt-10 (ie. can you upload patches from the gt-8 on to the gt-10).

  • GT-10 gives somthing more to play than gt-8.i have used a gt-8 with a fender strat n i have performed it on stages n it came out perfect without much noises......u cn use the gt-10 n gt-8 n ur own way the way u like...........if u knw how to use it .its da best thing u cn have with a guitar.

  • which set does he use for the chorus clean part??

    does anybody know??

  • man,he shreds like PG and has a touch of Joe Sat's feel...amazing guitar player...

  • You know why I prefer players like Jeff LaBar over Rob Marcello any day? At 1:13 he would have swung the guitar around his body. ;-))))

  • muito bom esse cara rob marcello

  • Rob Rocks!

  • this guy is an amazing player.. he sounds alot like a new satriani to me.. hes playing is very clean and more melodical then just some typical shred artist like M.A.B.. Petrucci... I have nothing against those artists.. they are great as well in their own way so dont start a flame war.. im not lookin for that

  • Yeah, it's similar to Satriani's songs a lot :) but i like it.

  • awesome player but he needs some hair-conditioner :D

  • it is a mix of feeling and technic...I do not know how to explain what he did. I couldn't pay attention to the GT 10 machine, he played a lot and called all the attention to himself.

  • dont waste your money on multieffect pedals..the guitar and the TUBE preamp make the differents... if you plug a normal(not 2000$ one) guitar in it it will never sound so good...i say so because i have one of those

  • Is there an additional pre-amp? Where?

Ok, good tube amps sound better than the boss GT-10, BUT the GT-10 already sounds very, very good.

If you can't make it sound good, here's a bunch of possible reasons why:

    - Your guitar sucks big time

    - The amp you plug it into sucks

    - You don't know how to set it up

    - Your playing sucks

Combinations of the mentioned reasons are of course possible and likely too.

  • yeah you need a good guitar and a good amp but if i have them i dont need a ME processor IMHO...thats why ive sold all my rig and ive bought a tube head and a jP6

  • the problem I see with a "conventional" tube amp is: live, you have a very limited choice of sounds.

something like the GT-10 still doesn't nail the true tube sound 100% - but hey, 95% and immense versatility for a fraction of the price and inconveniance of a nice tube amp really do the trick for me.

  • do you really think you can go on stage only with the GT-10 and nail that sound?...i think the GT-10 can replace effects but in NO WAY it can replace an amp....trust me

  • sorry ive used my sister's account for error XD but its me lol

  • you mean rob's sound? I wouldn't even care because I think it's awful.

and I KNOW that you can go on stage with the GT-10 as a pre-amp and the very biggest part of the audience won't even realise that you use "something different" than a "real amp".

A decade ago, professional photographers didn't want to use digital cameras... but times have changed.

And in the end, for me it's important to get a usable sound, affordably. I don't care how it's produced.

  • yeah same here if i can get a tube cool sound with a pedal who cares...but ive had a gt8 for 4 years tried with different guitars and amps an it always sucked balls...it sounded cool when ive used the clean channel of a jcm2000 into the gt8 as a distortion.. .but theres no point for me of using the GT8 if i have to carry my tube amp...maybe the GT10 its better but as i heard its a GT8 with a loop station

  • @Darkvinx88 you can get little tube boxes that give a really amazing tube sound. it goes inbetween the pedal end the amp, light and amazing

  • do you know if the gt-10 sounds good on a epi les paul with a marshall mg250dfx

  • basically, if your power-amp and speaker are somewhere close to what you like, the GT will sound good.

If you want to get Shadows surf sound out of this it will mean a lot of tweaking, but solid rock tone will be dialled in in a couple of seconds.

  • yes, dude this pedal is a fuckin beast. i use it in my Comfortably numb solo. check it out and tell me what you think about the tone

  • i have it now since the 25th of august

  • I doubt Roland/BOSS would have kept him on as a Spokesman if that was the case

  • he is the best !! i love you robert marcello

  • What band is he from,i agree.

  • i like that, rock n' rollllll yeahhhh...!!!

  • VERY underrated guitarist, love this guy.

  • not underrated, just nobody knows him

  • ANYBODY know the NAME of this song??? I gotta learn this shit right herem take me to the next level... this guy has got to be the best "clean" guitar soloist ive seen in a long ass time... anyways ANYONE know the name of that song????

  • he says "my new rock shong" but it seems to be only a gt-10 trial for demoing fsctory presets

  • no, he wrote this, and he also used it for one of the me20 demos

  • He says

This is a brand new song called my new rock song

You say he is liying cause gt-10 date from 2008 so??

  • ok, safe to say he's "GOD STATUS"! Amazing shit

  • Absolutely, this guy have his own style, obviously with some influences.

  • You guys are all wrong.. Rob has his own unique style. Notice those fast slides up the neck. But I can tell he is INFLUENCED by paul gilbert though

  • It sounds like he's about to launch into Andy Timmon's Carpe Diem at the start. Ironic, considering the whole Danger Danger thing.

  • I want shred guitar class with rob marcello, he is a maestro

  • we souldn't care if his stile it's like someone else's, instead, why dosen't everyone just listen to a good musician who has great ability on his hands to play the guitar and listen to the padal's presets... which is the main porpuse of this video...

  • Robert Marcello has his own style!!!

  • paul gilbert?? I would say his syle is more like stee vai's. I don't think he sounds a thing lke paul gilbert.

  • no...steve is rarely doing some kind fast picking..steve is good typing as i know...also, his music memorize me to paul music and style...

  • yeah but robs whammy bar techniques and steves are alike.

  • he is no steve vai, he is NO paul gilbert, i think he deserve the same title, he is one hell of a good guitarist

  • yea i think its more to paul gilbert.d right and left hand skills are much alike. i guess.

  • This guy is always messing up..... Look at some of his videos and at 3.06....

  • so many notes, one miss is really DAMN fuckin good ... rewatch those vids and see how he he is a clean player, really creative with sounds and unblivable tech

  • yes he is i love him too his musics are great.... I only said he is missing some notes sometimes.... Altough he is great!

  • nothing around 3.06 seems wrong to me

  • If you are looking for the mistake he made, its at 3.07

  • I happen be quite a critical listener, but everything around that period seems pretty intentional and musically correct/working.

  • i dunno, it doesn't sound great to me , but look at his face just after he does it.

  • 5:04-5:08 oh my!

  • Or he could just be having fun with what he likes and does best.

  • Variation is the spice of life, I liked all the different endings of the section.

  • Onsong and tight, I like the lick starting at 4:57.

At 5:28, after the heavy 6 string sweeping, I liked it in the other version you go to a heavy vibrato on the A string, before you drop back into the groove down low. You're going straight into the groove after the sweeps this time.

  • awesome hair!

  • Rob Marcello is awesome!

  • The Intro And The Harmonized Part Copies Andy Timmons' Carpe Diem.

  • IS GT 10 better than POD XT LIVE?..Does GT10 SUpport DYNAMIC PICKING..

  • YES IS DOES, WHY THE CAPS?

  • thanks..ppl generally talk shit about things and never answer my question..so i highlight the issue by using CAPS...

  • How much better is the GT 10 than the GT 6 and why would I want to upgrade?

  • man so cleaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!

  • this is so fuckin SICK!!!!!

    fuckin rock!!

  • People should listen with their ears, not their eyes.

  • I really dig the harmonizer :D

  • I met this guy giving a demo of the GT-10 at the local Guitar Center yesterday. Nice guy. Great player.

  • the other song of this has much better sound quality

  • ghe thing of multi effects its they don sound good a high volumes,,,,,, i dont know about the gt10 but technology always changes

  • I belive that multiefect sucks. Efects are ok, but drive sucks, cheap boss DS-1 have much better sound.

  • Agree, that's the problem of multieffects, distortions are never good enough.

  • kick ass!

  • who is tis guy??? neways

  • Robert Marcello..otherwise known as god..

  • No..it was being done well over 30 years ago by Ulrich Roth , who's still kicking around BTW, Becker was brilliant as well but much later. Yes ,Marcello can be a bit repititious on the same tune after a while but I've heard him play other styles as well. My "god" reference was tongue in cheek. I should be so tired tho.

  • Ah, this will be available soon!! It's something every guitar player should have.

  • Line6 PODxt sounds too digital and this GT-10 sounds more realistic.

  • i dunno with GT10 but my podxt kills my friend's gt8 anyday.. bossgt has better effects chorus delay etc but for preamp/distortion/crunch podxt is better!! i think i will post a clip soon

  • Waiting for it :)

  • ill let you know if i upload it.. now i just need to figure out how to record with my podxt

  • yeah, but if you put a crappy guitar and crappy player it will sound bad.

  • he is a monster on the guitar but this song sound a little bit like "carpe Diem" by andy timmons in the rythm part, but wtf.

    the Gt10 sound very good.

  • I was thinking the same thing, it does sound like Carpe diem, but it does FUCKING ROCK!!!!

  • He's a boss!

  • rob is the heat

  • Cuando Sale a la Venta el GT 10 en USA????

  • Rob rocks! :D
