i know that the GT has more features and what not, but im looking to buy the ME 70 or 50 and i want to know is there any difference in the sound quality between this and the ME series?
Great demo ! (you definitely wanna pull the plug every once in a while, being on DC on a constant basis isn't meant for humans... :o) )
The product is really appealing, but for an amateur like me, and with the budget I have, I'd rather consider a second-hand ME-70. Would be a good start anyway, woudn't it ? ...
The ME series is basically a smaller version of the GT series. The ME's are generally aimed at people who want a good multi-effects unit, but are on a budget. The GT series has way more stuff to play with such as amp models, effects patches, choruses, whammy settings, etc. I'd definitely go with the GT if you can afford it. I've got the GT-8 (which was replaced by the current GT-10) and I love it!
hi ive got a gt 10 and a vox vt30 which does not have a aux in jack therefore how do i connect my ipod/laptop to play jam tracks, any ideas out there please
He has no signature style or tone. Brian May, Jeff Beck and Eric Johnson just to name a few. Don't get me wrong, he is pretty amazing. Kind of like watching someone type really fast. LOL
@blakhaus bit harsh to say that, and he is an extremely versetaile guitarist, has very good chordal knowledge, and jazz knowledge and is extremely underated
how do u know what he is feeling when he is playing???????? feeling isnt jst playing slow and blues bends? there is heaps of feeling aggression, power, frustration etc... not having a go at ya, but there is heaps of ways!
Well said man. Way to keep an open mind. Music is like language. Just because it's inflected in different ways doesn't make it less dynamic in terms of message.
@joelkleber I agree with what your saying but generally it doesn't matter what we the musicians feel when we are playing or even wrote a certain piece its about how it comes across and the feelings it evokes in other people. The way it makes people feel when they hear it. I am not a big fan of 80 or 90's shred but he's a good musician but I agree there is not too much feeling to this playing. Jimmy herring thats a player with feeling.
I'm not keen on using effects processors for distortion, just sounds so weak. Rob is a guitar god, way up there with the best in the world. Mind blowing guitarist. There is a much better example of this song at watch?v=-XX4TR5R5og
I have zero experience with the gt-10 but are the patches interchangeable on the boss gt-8 and gt-10 (ie. can you upload patches from the gt-8 on to the gt-10).
GT-10 gives somthing more to play than gt-8.i have used a gt-8 with a fender strat n i have performed it on stages n it came out perfect without much noises......u cn use the gt-10 n gt-8 n ur own way the way u like...........if u knw how to use it .its da best thing u cn have with a guitar.
this guy is an amazing player.. he sounds alot like a new satriani to me.. hes playing is very clean and more melodical then just some typical shred artist like M.A.B.. Petrucci... I have nothing against those artists.. they are great as well in their own way so dont start a flame war.. im not lookin for that
it is a mix of feeling and technic...I do not know how to explain what he did. I couldn't pay attention to the GT 10 machine, he played a lot and called all the attention to himself.
dont waste your money on multieffect pedals..the guitar and the TUBE preamp make the differents... if you plug a normal(not 2000$ one) guitar in it it will never sound so good...i say so because i have one of those
yeah you need a good guitar and a good amp but if i have them i dont need a ME processor IMHO...thats why ive sold all my rig and ive bought a tube head and a jP6
the problem I see with a "conventional" tube amp is: live, you have a very limited choice of sounds.
something like the GT-10 still doesn't nail the true tube sound 100% - but hey, 95% and immense versatility for a fraction of the price and inconveniance of a nice tube amp really do the trick for me.
do you really think you can go on stage only with the GT-10 and nail that sound?...i think the GT-10 can replace effects but in NO WAY it can replace an amp....trust me
you mean rob's sound? I wouldn't even care because I think it's awful.
and I KNOW that you can go on stage with the GT-10 as a pre-amp and the very biggest part of the audience won't even realise that you use "something different" than a "real amp".
A decade ago, professional photographers didn't want to use digital cameras... but times have changed.
And in the end, for me it's important to get a usable sound, affordably. I don't care how it's produced.
yeah same here if i can get a tube cool sound with a pedal who cares...but ive had a gt8 for 4 years tried with different guitars and amps an it always sucked balls...it sounded cool when ive used the clean channel of a jcm2000 into the gt8 as a distortion.. .but theres no point for me of using the GT8 if i have to carry my tube amp...maybe the GT10 its better but as i heard its a GT8 with a loop station

Is there an additional pre-amp? Where?
Ok, good tube amps sound better than the boss GT-10, BUT the GT-10 already sounds very, very good.
If you can't make it sound good, here's a bunch of possible reasons why:
- Your guitar sucks big time
- The amp you plug it into sucks
- You don't know how to set it up
- Your playing sucks
Combinations of the mentioned reasons are of course possible and likely too.
