I think everyone is confused here. The "white mecha thingys" are called the Novus (Good Guys, sort of) and, except for one exception, are ALL robots. The big one flying around is actual a mech but is also a robot in it's own right. An alien woman pilots it. The big, dark red walkers and tripod walkers are the Hierarchy and are just plain evil.

Well in the campaign you eventually dicide to help the humans. The main reason u dont help right away is because your leader is a computer based robot who is a jackass until the very last level.

They should have added grenadier and sniper squads which should decimate infantry and small walkers. Then, EMP upgrades to defeat both giant walkers and the UFO's. Finally, they should give minigun, shotgun and grenade technology to the Novus.
