Not really... in modern warfare a lot of infantry wear lighter armour, so they have speed and can move. The idea in modern war, is not to absorb to hit, but to avoid and strike first. Think about it, standard infantry can carry anti tank weaponry, a combat system this bulky designed to take hits just doesnt work.
So that it won't appear to be scary. Could you imagine if they built a scary terminator looking robot and act very seriously. That could have a negative impact to other people.
To put everybody at ease, there is a person inside that robot. The lower body is human legs. The forearms have the human's arms coming in from the armpit area. The human head is inside the chest. the only robotic components are the head and forearms. I was disappointed when I found out too.
you think honda who also spend time and money on all their companies, and sony that went to shit cause they thought putting blu-ray in a game system would make everybody pay $600 for a console are the only 2 companies that make robots?. you'd have to be an idiot to say something like that. Theres funding and people that just focus on robotics.
It has to be a suit, Sony and Honda are spending millions upon millions of dollars to build a robot that has the technology of the Titan, if the Titan was real it wouldn't walk around in fairs playing songs, and insulting people, Sony and Honda barley have the technology to recognize people...technology just isn't there yet, making the Titan a fake
It IS a suit. See that mirror plastic on the chest? Its just like a two way mirror so the guy inside can see out. If there WASN'T a guy in the suit then this would be a major breakthrough in tech.
I saw this Big Boy at the Kent Show, nobody expected him to walk off the stand and it scared the life out everybody. He sang 'Grandad we love you' to my Dad, he was so embarrassed : )
