Actually I tamed this (you don't have to hitch it to make it available in stores, just break it in!) and then went straight back to my Kentucky Saddler. I had him the entire game up until I could get the American Standardbred.

If you looking for the american standardbred -just to let people no it is extremely rare to find this horse in mexico. if you were out at night you probably saw a dutch warm blood. They look very similar in the dark. You are much more likely to find this horse in the tall trees and great plain area's of the map. BTW i don't think you can reach this area until you have completed the chapter in mexico apparently the roads are blocked but im not sure . Thanks :)

I think american standardbred is the best. I'm stuck on the Irish mission in the mine and all of a sudden the dixon crossing was finished and i went out into the great plains and caught that horse.

Sweet, I found one in the exact same place. It was right beside another one as well. What's funny is that right before I tried to break this horse, a random person who asked for help tried to steal my other horse (American Standardbred) so I had to kill him first, but then this horse ran away! I found it again though lol. Thanks for the vid!

@jakerocker456 if u go to the wiki the standard bred is the fastest but has the lowest stamina...the saddler is the middle ground...and the half bred is the slowest but has the best damage resistance and stamina

while the AS is the fastest the HHB is a tank and can take more shots then the other 2 and has high stamina.

the KS and AS both have average health and average stamina.

the hungarian half bred is the slowest of the three 'fast' horses... ( American standardbred 'the fastest horse in the game', kentucky saddler 'has less stamina/speed than the american standardbred', and the hungarian half bred 'the slowest, but has a little more health than the kentucky saddler' )

so no, i wouldn't say that the hungarian half bred is better

@zzFallens When you get the horse, can you only get the deed when you buy the horse? I have the dark horse that is all skinned up cuz I decided to become a cereal killer at one point in the game so it comes when I whistle instead of the horse that I found in the wild. I hitched it aswell. Sorry if i may sound confusing lol. So am I forced to buy it in the general store to keep it for the whole game? I need the deed so I can avoid riding the dark horse.
