  • Wow! Did'nt know the Baroness was into witchcraft.

  • dic killed gi joe

  • why is saxton hale helping corba?

  • @MacMaraScott

How Come Cobra Commander did not turn back completely to Human? Why?

  • @pluto4847 He wasn't even human he was from another race

  • I recalled that Cobra Commander had eight eyes because of that spore he had been exposed too before forming Cobra on Golobulus' behalf. Somehow the eyes have been reduced back to two.

  • @Rtkat3 I actually remember earlier in the mini series where the Baroness actually said, "Still no change." This probably implies that she did some experimentation to reverse the first exposure to the spores, that gave him the extra eyes, but ironically failed to undo the second exposure that devolved him.

  • @wbowen05 That was until the part with the Dragonfire fragment that restored him to semi-human form.

  • PRETTY SATANIC FOR A KID'S SHOW DONT YA THINK??

  • @jmanideth That's what makes it AWESOME!! >D

  • i never got to see this! damn now i want to see what happened next! LOL!

  • Oh ok, that explains it.

  • I never had the chance to see the DiC series back when I was young and in spite of its faults I would've enjoyed watching it as much as SUNBOW's version.

  • he has no private part lol

  • @HotRodakaMadMax It's a 1980s kid's cartoon, of course he doesn't! lol Maybe he's like a reptile and keeps everything internally.

  • Chris Latta was a graet voice actor. "Hail Chris Latta, long live the King!"

Hasbro and the Gi Joe and Transformers fans will never forget your career.

  • Sounds almost like the Baorness is having the big O here.

Nonetheless, at least they referenced the previous incarnations of the series by having CC say "I was once a man!" when he reverts.

  • Our leader is back!!! hail cobra commander!!

  • can any one tell me the beginning of this episode

  • Comment removed

  • Actually Cobra Commander became a snake-man.

  • 1:10 its Mace from COPS cartoon lol

  • The one thing DiC did right.

  • Does anyone know which season and episode this is from?

  • DIC Series, Season 1, Episode 1.

  • So I guess this is what he looks kike to thes day.

  • Huh Huh the Cobra Commander is naked!

  • I remember actually watching this episode when I was little at 8am on saturday. I had no idea that this would be on and when I saw that it continued after the movie I was sooooo glued to the tv that till this day I remember it. Cobra Commander has always been my favorite and when I saw this I was like OOO MY! One thing I loved about GIJOE and Transformers is that the cartoon continued after the movie.. which IMO is awesome! What can we mention today that has the chance of doing this? NOTHING

  • yeah cobra commander is my fav to

  • HOLY CRAP!!! I never saw this one, what happens next? Does he totally transform back to human, does Baroness die, what's up?

  • She didn't die...she passed out!

  • whats with the animal skull?

  • Baroness was recreating a ritual used in ancient times to harness mystical "dragonfire" energy to mutate animals into human form.

  • I thought the DiC version went off the comic and not the movie, so i also always wondered why they had CC as a snake. cause to the comic series the movie never happened. the CC for comic series is a crimson guardsmen (can't remember who), but The Baroness is the only one who knows this, everyone else thinks its CC whos currently in therapy from a coma. if my memory is right its been around 20yrs since I last saw or read the series.

  • anyone know of someone who has all the episodes posted on their site?

  • when you find out let me know. I just saw the movie but thats all thats posted.

  • Cobra Commander = Starscream!

    (Voice)

  • True that, Hail Chris Latta, one of the greatest comedians of our generations.

  • RIP Chris Latta,

  • Tru Dat. He was definitely awesome.

  • Also, if his subordinates had so much contempt for him, why would they resurrect him?

  • exactly.

  • I love Cobra Commander as much as the next guy, but I thought he had a fitting end in the movie, getting in one last riposte against Serpentor.

Not sure who should have taken over in this incarnation of the series, but this seems contrived.

  • exactly!!.. should of been the end of him.. & if they wanted to continue series .. they should of had Cobra start all over again.. maybe with Destro at the helm?? aka.. Iron Grenadiers.. that would of been cool

  • Ouch, this is pretty horrible. Where was I when this aired? Funny, I had a lot of the newer toys from this era, but never saw these episodes.

  • Why would they want Cobra Commander back after the movie? In my humble opinion, Destro or Dr. Mindbender should of lead Cobra what's left of it. After the movie the organization should of gone completely bankrupt with all the loses they took in the movie. Losing the Terror Drome, and countless amounts of vehicles, and man power.

  • Because there's only so much of Serpentor's "THIS I COMAAAND!!!" bullshit one can take. In the movie they all threw in with Serpentor only because he seemed to serve their best interests better. Apparently Cobra Commander seems to be her best best. Remember, Destro & Co will sell out to Gilbert Gottfried if they thought their intrests could be served better. In essense the motives are purely selfish

  • This verson wasnt that good and wasnt that bad either. But it did lack something....orginality. Cobra Commander was difigured in an experiment that went wrong and changed his face. It caused him to have a few more eyes. Then Golobus gave him spores that changed him into a snake. Then Baroness changed him back. Then he came back and took over.

  • Is Baroness narcoleptic?

  • If he's not even human, why can you see white skin around his eyes when his costume is on? And what's that covering his genitals right there? Hehehe.

  • In the original Miniseries you could see the back of Cobra Commanders head and he was bald with normal anglo color skin. No eyes or warts.

Destro commented that Cobra Commanders table manners were attrocious when he ate with his hood off, but said nothing like "Sweet Jesus! Youve got a lot of fucking eyes!!!"

Basically Sunbow doesnt think we're smart enough to remember this stuff. DICs work was pretty bad. But Sunbow's was just as bad, with only marginally better art.

  • You always state your case well, Rev, but I can't agree that Sunbow's efforts were as bad as DIC's.

I do understand where you're coming from; many of the original series' fans regard it through rose-tinted glasses when, yes, it had its fair share of total nonsense. I see how their "Lolz DIC Joe sux, oldskool rules" tripe can grate on your nerves.

Still, superior artwork aside, I'd have to argue that the Sunbow cartoon was handily superior to the DIC one. It's difficult to make a ...

  • Fair enough.

  • that seen between 1:00 and 1:07 is really gay

  • That's because Joey's takin' it down under mate!

  • "I feel it... entering my body!"

Baroness is such a sexy little slut.

  • Thanks for this. I hadn't seen these since the one time as a kid. Not to say I wasn't slightly confused back then due to the movie not having been on TV and the sudden jump between series to "total snakedom never helping". Quoth the Evil Overlord List or something.

  • That movie G.I.joe series. They should have metup with the transformers even if it would hard to tell who was talking screamer or the commander.

  • They did. Cobra Commander sold weapons to terrorists under the guise of Old Snake, Flint and Lady Jaye's daughter Merissa was an ally of the TFs (We even see old Flint, as a Quintesson illusin) And Some Seekers once fought some Oktobre Guard planes.

  • BWAHAHAHAA! He sounds just like stascream! ... how'd CC get turned into a snake?

  • Funny you should say that, Chris Latta did the voices for BOTH CC and everyones favorite rat bastard robot. He was also Gung-Ho in the Sunbow

As for the Snake thing, an ancient cultCC once belonged to mutated him with spores he once created. It was really quite stupid. Animated GI Joe never really made much sense. You gotta understand its a commercial to sell toys, not a medium for quality storytelling.

  • "An ancient cult?" From what I saw in the movie CC was a member of a race of humanoids who existed before modern humans (pre 1st ice age) whose society was based on using living creatures rather than technology (flying bugs, living guns etc)

  • Then don't ask the damn question if you already know the answer. Theyre still a very very small society. And you could call it a cult since they practically worshipped the genetic science.

  • I found these answers out later anyway when I watched the movie on here. I haven't seen this show since I was 6 and it was reruns on the Cartoon network. too bad the first and second season aren't on the site. I really wanna watch them.

  • Why did DIC have the characters moving so slow, must've been limited by the budget.

  • This is so gay

  • wow I didnt remember how the brought him back

also funny how in the movie DUke dies but then thay went and changed that and said he was all better lol

also... that scene there after they mention taking him to jail... scary!

cool vid thanks for sharing this lost memmory

  • They just put a couple cheap voice-overs by Doc in at the last minute. Duke was a dullard.

  • Baroness can't get her hormones under control man. and CC, what a bastard, I love it!

  • Check out the Dreadnok video by The Echo Jinx. Best video around.

  • Wow, Baroness sure changed her tune. Since the events of the movie clearly preceded this, she forgot all about how much she hated CC and loved Serpentor

    :-\

  • It's one of those "Be careful what you wish for" things. Listening to Serpentor shriek "THIS I COMMAND!!!" had GOT to get annoying after a while. Besides, Baroness will favor whoever she feels suits her best interests at the drop of a hat. She probably still hates him, but at the moment is more useful to her than Serpy.

  • I remember this. If I remember correctly in the movie Life Line said that there was nothing he could do for the snake and that the spore's effects couldn't be reversed.

  • Life Line was saying that there was notihng he could do medically for him. The Baroness is using mysticism and magic. Magic can do things that medicine can't. Plus it's just a cartoon.

  • Lifeline said nothing *HE* could do. He's a medic, not a mystic or a geneticist.

Ever wonder how a pussy who refused to touch weapons could get into the Army, much less the elite Joe team?

  • hey remeber this one this fight somebody for who it was

  • I think CC was cute as a snake, actually. Bringing him back by the Dragonfire wasn't really something I would have had in mind though. I think it would have been better for Baroness to stumble on the cure to the spores by some kind of regenerative mold and have the change be gradual. But that's just me.

  • And if that dosen't suck more, only Morgan Lofting as Baroness, Ed Gilbert as General Hawk, and the late great Chris Latta as Cobra Commander are the only original voices talents to appear in the DIC cartoon series.

  • And Sgt. Slaughter too, right?

  • Yeah that's true, fans of the show might say getting him and Serpentor may have made them "Jump the Shark."

  • Serpentor definitely, since he was a bit too sci-fi and made CC look bad even though he lost just as often, but I liked Sarge. Then again, I'm a wrestling fan, so I'm biased.

  • The upcoming GI Joe convention will be offering an exclusive figure of Rowdy Roddy Piper as an Iron Grenadier equivelent to Slaughter.

  • I don't think Cobra Commander is supust to look like THAT at all. Sorry I don't how to spell that word up their.

  • Cobra Commander couldn't havelooked like that, in the movie he got those spores on him and he had eyeballs all over his head. This must just be him right after they sprayed him with the spores again after his trial at Cobra-La (I can feel my nerdness spreading).

  • After he got sprayed in the movies he "devolved" to a snake. This takes place some time afterwards.

  • That's true, but if you remember watching the movie he was sent out into the world after experimenting with the spores and he got hit with them before he became Cobra Commander. They showed him spinning around and he had eyeballs all over his bald head and then they showed him with the Cobra Commander uniform on being sent out of Cobra-La. Man, my nerdness is overwhelming.,

  • I understand that...This clip is After the end of the movie. That's what I meant to say.

  • No prob, sorry if I sounded mad. Geeks get that way sometimes.

  • Get this, in the second miniseries "The Weather dominator as he's putting on his hood we see athe back of his head with looked like a basic bald white guy, with NO multiple eyes or blue skin. And the skin around his eyes was also white ever time we see him in the hood afterward.

  • Kina like how Darth Vader's head looked like a Cauliflower in Empire and the Emperor looked all green.

  • Yeah. That's one way to look at it I suppose. Though in the Emperors case that may have been the lighting, if youre talking about his hologram. The light in the room he wa making the hlogram from. Holograms tend to be somewhere in the blue spectrum

  • But how do you explain the voice (yeah, I know it was a different guy who played him in "Jedi")

  • Simple. Actors get replaced from one production to another. Like James Bond or Sherlock Holmes. People arent supposed to acknowledge cast changes within the context of the movie. Lucas wasnt the first to make casting changes and he wasn't the last. Wedge even got replaced WITHIN Ep4 (He was the guy Luke mentions shooting Womp Rats too. He was a fill in for the usual Wedge who was unavailable that day.

For all intents and purposes there IS no discrepancy in the voice.

  • Star Trek Enterprise was really, REALLY bad about consistency. Like in the original show Spock mentions the only weapons they had in the days of the Romulan War were nukes but in ENT theyre using pretty much the exact same weapons they use in Picards time. Transporters als work faster than 100 years later in Kirks day, where we're given the impression that transporting living being was only possible sometime within the past 40 years

But yes, you pretty much get the point. Just poor writing

  • at lease they had the real voice of CC

  • So bad this was Chris Latta's last time to voice a major character from the 1980s.

  • i love the Baroness!! wish she was real

  • Best thing about the DiC series...

  • now we all know what cobra commander looks like under that helmet and cloak

  • incredible!! awesome!
