I'm Brazilian and I raise 5 of these spiders. Just getting close to them already causes an agressive reaction, like the one seen in the video. So, yes, they are indeed very agressive.
sorry for english, I'm writing by google!. armadeira beautiful here in my region of Brazil, Rio Grande Do Sul has a lot of them! even being a spider that CAN NOT CREATE IN CAPTIVITY BECAUSE THEIR AGGRESSION I had one! lasted 2 years. Was beautiful like this
haha sorry! i thought scotland may have been a bit cold for them. i lived in rio for 3 years, didnt see any there :( next time will visit minas and take a look at them
Um no that would be Pondokkie our little cottage in Minas Gerais, Brasil. Armadeiras are under every rock there....and often inside the house. They are fast moving so hard to catch when they get inside the house.
Hi - I had a little stick t keep it from chewing my arms off with those massive fangs. Our cottage has lots of these spiders hiding behind every rock!
You are very lucky to have found such a beautiful spider. I live in Brazil and I have one "armadeira" spider as a pet, I caught her in a banana tree. As you could see these are very fast ones and they also follow your movements.
SMASH IT WITH THAT FUCKIN STICK AHHHH!!!! >:D

This is not a "armadeira", but a "caranguejeira". ( Lycosa sp )
The Lycosa arms the strike too.

thats the most venomous spider on the planet lol your playing with death here.
SrWilson3s 1 year ago
@SrWilson3s No, the loxosceles is the most dangerous. The bite causes less pain in te time of bite, but the poison is more dangerous.

Phoneutria nigriventer - the most agressive and one of the most poisonous spiders in the world - typical defensive behaviour
Found a big male of this species in Rio near the Sugar Loaf years ago. Too dangerous to bring it home, I took it to my Biology teacher.

one of the wandering spiders there looks like a Phoneutria nigriventer, you would not wanna get tagged by that
