i dont know how bots are playing but on these servers where i am playing it is hard to kill pyros. ok you can kill a pyro but it is hard to kill him twice because after the first kill he spawns and watches carefully after his back. and most pyros always shoot their flametrower when they run to a capture point or payload cart

When you cloak, for just about a second you are partially visible to the enemy (you shimmer), then you are 100% cloaked to the enemy. Things that make you shimmer or give away your location include: being on fire, having jarate on you, falling and taking damage i believe the enemy can see the blood particles you lose.Bumping enemies makes tyou shimmer, and the halo currently shows, also on all-talk servers your talk bubble can be seen cloaked/ enemy disguised.

Why? Everyone assumes spy is the worst disguise as every spy should be disguised. Another good thing with spy disguise is that it's the only disguise that works when you are with your own team (as they will see you as spy and if they dont check closely enough wont see that you are not disguised).

In theory that is true, just like I mentioned earlier. In practice however, the spy disguise is better for it's low profile, making it easier to hide in shadows, around corners and whatnot. Spy is the best disguise. Period.

Well, there's a couple problems with that.

First of all, friendly spies are almost always in disguise--meaning a friendly spy with no mask is as as suspicious as a slow-moving scout, or a non-healing medic.

While spies are the only class where invisibility isn't a factor of suspicion, pyros still instinctively flame semi-invisible characters.

Most people spycheck semi-invisible characters, but that's besides the point. You should NEVER uncloak where anyone can see you. If I go for a kill, they never see me coming as I will uncloak behind them or jump down from a ledge. Even though it's hard to explain with so few letters, spy is the best disguise in most cases. Other good disguises are sniper, engineer and pyro. I would possibly go demoman on occasions, but it should be avoided as you move slower (you certainly dont want that).

I'm certainly not a master spy, but spies do occasionally uncloak in front of me. I then immediately light them on fire until they're dead.

I usually go pyro because they have similar movement speeds, and no one questions a pyro running around the base. They might call for a spy check, in which case you stab 'n run, or hide.

If they uncloak in front of you they certainly deserve to meet a fiery doom :P

But yes, pyro is a good disguise, but it has it weakness in that it's very bad for standing at corners, as your weapon will show. The spy model is very small and doesn't attract as much attention in that regard.
