Generally speaking, I agree that the US foreign policy has been very faulty and done more harm that good. But, I hate when people are hypocrite while judging others... Do not blame America alone while trying to justify Russia's actions in Chechnya. There is no dignity in such arguments.

The native who lived in Mexico before their invasion were Indians. Spain invaded and their children became Mexicans. The natives of that area were killed, put on their version of reservations or married/mated with the Spanish before USA and Mexico started having land disputes.

Angry? Not really. I am also part English, Irish and German. Why would I hate pieces of myself? History is not black and white...it is all shades of grey. For example, should I hate my Irish ancestors for escaping a famine? Should I hate my German ancestors for leaving a post WWI Europe? But make no mistake...I am just as proud of my Pawnee family history as I am of my "White" history. All of these people made sacrifices for me to exist and I love them for it.

Why be bitter about the things you cannot change when there are things here and now that can be changed for the better?

I don't think in terms of hating...sorry. I know about the genocide but I am not going to hate my ancestors. Are you familiar with Indian spirituality? Each tribe is different, of course. But there are common threads. They didn't worship their ancestors but they held them in high regard. The wisdom elders found through experience. To hate an ancestor would go against that wisdom and I, as their collective child, would have learned nothing.

No you didn't. I am just saying I do not judge any of my ancestors. Many of my Indian ancestors died from diseases brought over from "The Old World." Others through violence. It saddens me to think of their suffering but I know they struggled to survive for the future. I also acknowledge that my "White" ancestors struggled. All people alive have stories of ancestors beating the odds in crisis situations. Including you, I bet. It's through their courage we live.
