The truck driver was drunk, the Lada driver was drunk, the groom was drunk, the bride was drunk, the whole wedding party was drunk, the video-ographer was drunk, the police and ambulance crew who showed up were drunk! They were all drunk! Then they were all invited back to the hall, even the trucker, and they all had a good time! Because they got drunker!

At first I placed the blame on the truck driver, but after watching this video again, it was clearly the little car's fault. He should have stayed in the lane he was in, but he pulled out in front of the truck and the driver didn't have enough distance to stop.

I live in norway and the eastern european drivers is in the news all the time. Its drunk driving,summer tires in the winter,bad/no brakes,badly worn tires,unsecured/lose cargo and driving skills like a drunk monkey. The government is talking about checkpoints on the boarders. The hope is tax reductions so real drivers can compete instead of using a load of money to fiks/clean upp after the morons.

There were people in the background on the other side of the road. This truck driver flew through all of this without slowing down. He was coming down a hill at the start of the video. He had plenty of time to slow down and didn't. I am also a driver and this is what gives us a bad name. I don't care if he was loaded or not, he is not fit to be a (pro) driver. You have to be smarter than the truck!!

Look closely. The truck never slows or swerves... no sign of braking or attempting to evade.

No audio, but I doubt the truck driver hit the horn either, if had laid on the horn you'd of seen people turning to look BEFORE the collision.

The only conclusion I can make is that 1) The truck driver was absolutely not paying any attention at all. As in Cell/phone/drunk/asleep type of lack of attention. 100% negligence...

Actually, you can see WHEN the driver hits the brakes. It's the instant the tires start to smoke. He hits brakes about 0.5 sec before impact. Clearly not paying attention.

You have to consider if a loaded tractor-trailer is traveling 50 mph, that's 73 fps (feet per second.) Driver reaction time is 55 fps BEFORE brakes can even be applied. For a truck braking distance is 320 feet for a combined total of 375 feet.

With the car pulling out in front of the truck and NOT speeding up, the truckdriver had no chance in hell to stop in time giving.

The car pulls out and the truck keeps coming full speed. It's only at the last second that brakes are applied. 5 seconds is plenty of time to see the car in the way and lay on the brakes and horn. Maybe not stop entirely but definitely slow down. Never happens. Brakes aren't applied until the very end, and horn wasn't used.

According to the video, you can see the truck already starting to pass BEFORE the car pulled out in front of him. When the driver of the car pulled out in front of the truck, the truck was about 5 seconds away, he/she put themselves in harms way. And you see what happened. So don't blame the truckdriver when the facts show the car move into the path of the truck.

You can see the truck barreling down the road. At 7 seconds the car moves fully into the way. Hit at 12/13 seconds. 5 seconds doesn't sound like a lot, but it's plenty of time to at least SEE an obstacle and lay on the brakes and horn.
