@hermit5321 As far as I know, this song was first released on the (now out of print) compilation album Best Foot Forward. If you want it, try the Goonies soundtrack album, or just download it from iTunes, Amazon or any place where sound files are legally sold!
I saw the Goonies for the first time when I was 9, that was in 1989. It was an older movie then, but its stuck with me as one of the best movies of all time for me ever since.
@iolite1 Me too,but I was 3,and I saw it in early 2002.My mom actually got to see these guys in concert because she was selected for a trip from her work.
This is the first time I've heard this whole song, twenty-five years after The Goonies came out in the theaters. Great song, every bit as good as REO's best-known songs.
Thanks for hosting this song. It was my favorite on the Goonies album. The song had some deep meanings for my friends and I in our teens. In some ways we were a goon squad of Long Island.
REO were featured playing this song on Noel Edmonds Saturday TV show at the time. I was astounded that given this exposure it did not chart - look how the show boosted Billy Ocean and Fergal Sharkey to no.1 with 'When the going gets tough' and 'A Good Heart' respectively.
This was also supposed to be played during the ending credits, but was changed at the last moment. The band was none too pleased. This is one of my favorite REO songs and sadly, it was basically tossed aside.
Although released as a single in the US in 1985 it only appeared on the UK only compilation Best Foot Forward. In Goonies, it is on the radio in the background in an early scene in Brand's bedroom. Thanks for posting dude!
Which album was this on?

You should listen to their other songs too. They are a great well known American band. Many great classic hits.
