  • It costs $400,000 to fire this gun for 1.2 seconds.

  • And they still lost.

  • Thats the power of the Reich for you.

  • What is the Background Music called? I really like that music!

  • This is really awsome, but was this really cost effective?

  • @josephddd117 nope it wasnt took 2h to get it ready for the next shot but it was possible to hit london from france with this it was made to scare the british ppl

  • today... I found my true love.

  • Accuracy couldn't have been that great, I'm guessing more physcological than anything. But with a round that size it really dose'nt matter.

  • too bad even with the biggest cannon they could defeat my slavic people < beware ! next time u come to beef to my lands we will not let u live after we destroy your army :)

  • That probably is as big as my sister

  • They used these fu ckers to bombard Sevastopol, luckily they weren't accurate at all, so only about 1 or 2 out of 200 hit the target.

  • I must ask..how was this gun moved...was it self powered or did they psch it with a train

  • way wuld you build a canon like that?

  • At 0:22 it looks like that guy is pulling the gun :D

  • why

  • I'd like to see the specs at the start go by slower.

  • @TheMikewalking Why dont you pause it?

  • @TheMikewalking You gotta be the most retarded nigger ever.

  • Enemy Territory!

"Build the gun control, Fire the Rail Gun!"

    "We need an engineer"

  • at the beginning it says it was weighed in tonnes?

  • @thisisrandom99 1 350 tonne = 2 976 240.539 5 lb, lbs or 1 350 000 kilograms

  • This weapon has been used well before WW2, in fact Germany and France have had a few of these in WW1 but the guns were made in late 1800s. Germans fired a dozen of shells on Paris in 1916 before being pushed back, causing massive damages...

  • it has an elevator.......

  • you think this is crazy??.........

Speer even had plans to install this one on a tank (P-1500 "Monster") ^^

  • xD one Tag is "Dora"

  • @Timodermobber That was the guns name. There was another built named Schwerer Gustav.

  • This thing is so scary looking.....

  • I'va Biggun...

  • @theBasti2612 blow dart more like it

  • That song sounds awfully familiar

  • @Germanboy567 I think it's Manor House Rally from Medal of Honor frontline. I can't believed I still remember the song after so many years since playing the game

  • @AquarianWarKitten

Oh god you're right. That's where it's from. Best game ever

  • If i was in ww2 i would have stole this anyday this is the coolest thing ever built by far

  • Glad they wasted all that time, money, and effort on that impractical monstrosity.

  • Can you shot this from the hip?

  • And they say size doesnt matter.

  • I was just thinking, how much of an effect on the war did these 2 enormous monsters have? Was it very cost efficient? Not only to make the guns and carriage themselves but all the rounds they fired, not to mention the manpower required to keep them working. All that material could have been used to make more tanks, or aircraft. 4-5 tanks per gun and ammo used, maybe more.

  • @YambidiBlamBlam I remember reading something that these 2 rail guns actually had a negative affect on the Wehrmacht because as you just pointed out they tied down to many resources. They only helped the Germans win a few battles but cost so much that it was just a big waste. Same thing with the V1 and V2 ballistic missles that the germans designed. They used to any resources

  • @FarrisBeuller1 And the Maus, Graf Zepplin, and Bismarck were wastes of material. They could have built more flakpanzers, panthers, tigers, and kick-ass aircraft. Just look at the Bismarck. How cost efficient was it? How many enemy ships did she sink before going down? 1 or 2 maybe? That was like, what, 100+ tanks worth of material? That many tanks would have been very helpful in North Africa or The Battle of Kursk.

  • @YambidiBlamBlam Oh absoulutly. Had the Germans not wated so much money and resources on wonder weapons and just built conventional tanks and aircraft the war could have gone very differently. The ME 262 Jet fighter was the 1st of its kind ever and the Germans built it but only 300 of them ever saw action, with the amount of mony and materials they cost they could have built thousands of regular fighter.

  • @FarrisBeuller1 The V2 was actually effective. They were pretty accurate and hit where they were intended. They killed thousands of being over the span of a few months, with around 14-20 V2's launching a day? It provided a fear factor never before seen. Since it was supersonic you couldn't see it or hear it coming, it just blew up taking out blocks and blocks of houses and military installations. If the Germans would of had more time and resources, V2 rockets could of won it.

  • @MrBrandonXP Well I just naming several of the German wonder weapons for examples, your right the V2 was a very successful weapon. But I still think that the Germans wasted to much effort on these weapons in general. Some where major successes such as the V2 and the Sturmgewehr 44 Assault rifle but on the whole scale many were wastes of time and material. I also disagree I don't think that the V2 could have won the war for them, however they could have definitly helped.

  • @YambidiBlamBlam Well...If this Dora costed some 7 000 000 Reich's marks, and average cost for PzKpf VI was 1 000 000 Reich's marks...I would rather have 7 Tigers than Dora, though Dora has some meaning in the propaganda sector.

  • Ok now thats what i call "Artillery" :DD

  • SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, one hour later BOOM, SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, BOOM, SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, SLOW BOOM. Three hours later three shots, not impressive at all.

  • dear santa....

  • I really liked the video accept for the fact you only showed one impact from it.

  • Germans. We tend to go big, or don't go big at all...

  • The music reminds me of..... Medal of Honor por PS1.... love it <3 and the gun reminds me of a mission too lol

  • this is chuck norris's pistol.

  • thumbs up for metal of honor frontlines

  • I read somewhere this broke after every shot.

  • Your video is a favorite on La Paz

  • @ramonshaw921 Whats La Paz?

  • @mozebasic A town in Peru

  • @mozebasic it was the city that get shooten by dora :D

  • @mozebasic .....

  • we have one of these on the INS Executor.

  • @TylerAssady False, the music is from Medal of Honor Frontline.

  • Music*

  • This is not star war must. This is from medal of honor vanguard. You idiot

  • Dear Santa...

  • Holy shiz

  • thats totally starwars music.

  • Must have been pretty expensive to miss a shot with Gustav or Dora....

Rally tally - cash register at Krupp Works goes: JA! DER BILLEN COMES 10,000 Reichmarks per shell...plus comission...

  • @HeirofGojira91 I like your comment.

  • @mozebasic NEWS FLASH POST-WAR 1945 - The long-family owned business Krupp was yesterday declared bankrupt due to masses of angry Russian soldiers who formed a huge mob outside the main factory; a spokesperson for the angry Russian soldiers claimed that they wanted not only vengeance against the factory workers for the lives of those killed by weapons manufactured but also insurance for 2.5 years worth of damage from the Schewere Gustav and Dora in Leningrad (strictly this is a joke - not racist

  • @HeirofGojira91 Thanks for the info :)

  • @mozebasic You're welcome! Oh and speaking of 'expensive way to use a weapon' - during the Vietnam War it was claimed that if an airman could destroy the radar-guided North Vietnamese weapons it was capable of forcing the NOrth Vietnamese to practically spam stockloads of SA-2 guideline missiles at US aircraft - but due to the radar being knocked out that means it was a very expensive way of using a weapon - just like you buying a few random blind-boxed action figures hoping to get who you want

  • @mozebasic Oh and not to mention in the Arab-Israeli conflicts - sometimes Egyptian SAM crews panicked seeing Israeli SHermans or Patton tanks rushing towards them - guess what the Egyptians did? They desperately fired the SAM's towards the Shermans - despite thier frightening effect the SAM's did little to actually damage the Sherman...haha - probably its like firing a heavy 20mm cannon on a heavily armored tank frontally in a desperate way to stop it...

  • @mozebasic The reply comment was more of a joke really - I do not intend to piss off anyone whoever was affected via thier families from the Kruppworks in WWII from bombing of Gustav and Dora haha. Now as for this one 'expensive to miss a shot' - if you think about it though I'll bet Gustav and Dora would have been expensive in proportion to what they did to Leningrad - powerful superweapons can be expensive after all - the Manhattann Project was allocated 2 Billion Bucks in WWII USD!

  • @mozebasic Commander Gustav: Ja! Today we ZERSTROY this target!

Crew: Ja! Roger Roger! To the ballistics crew: Ja! What is the angle of elevation?!

Crew: Ja Herr Commandant! 32 deg North by windage of 60 Ja! Perfect day to 'toast' Molotov!

Commander: How long to shoot? Crew: Ja! 44.5 minutes Ja!

45 mins later - Gustav fired. Commander: Ja! How did we do?! Spotter plane: Ja! We missed DER Target by und 100 metres Ja! Commander: DUMBKOPF! YOUR WEEKLY PAY HAS BEEN DISMISSED JA!

  • the canadians were the best fighters of ww2 no doubt

  • @EviLittleMonsta I disagree, the Americans ended the war. And the Germans got pretty far given the size of their country.

  • @cooper8318 need i remind you that on dday the americans failed to reach their objective at omaha, while the canadians succeded at juno

  • @cooper8318 in fact the canadians were the only ones who reached their objective

  • HOY SHIT THATS THE DORA

  • German Rail Gun.

Russians could build one of those in there backyards.

  • @aresboy2011 that was used in ww2 it destroyed towns in one to two rounds but the Nazis just couldn't make tons of rounds for it so it was not used or destroyed by american aircraft bc we had air power of the lufftwaffe

  • Dear Santa.....

  • artillery not a gun lol

  • were is it know

  • Wow if that was unleashed Germany would have dominated the world.

  • OO"

    THEY SHOOT CHUCK NORRIS.

  • it reminds me of the gigantic cannon in lost planet 2

  • Where the hell is he aiming???

  • @Monkeymad103 The Schewere Gustav was a complex weapon for its power. Due to its range being well over 37km special meteoroballistic (calculation of ballistics in tandem with the weather/atmospheric conditions) calculations were needed. So in addition to preparing the 7.1 tonne shells and charges the engineers/gunners would also need to calculate temperature of charge, temperature of the air, wind current and altitude - to maximize chances of an accurate strike.

  • @Monkeymad103 The projectile and charge had to also be added in at the right amounts and then accurate angles for raising the gun. This all took time. However the crew of the Schewere Gustav also got assistance from Fieseler Fi-156 Storch observation aircraft who relayed information via a radio to the crews of the Schewere Gustave. The target was 27,000+ yards away from where the gun was position afterall. Hope this helps

  • @HeirofGojira91 < Thanks for the info; could I order a VW made from the steel of this gun ?

  • @Zeno1999if Given the fact it had a barrel of 29 metres and had a weight of 1350 tonnes - I'm guessing yep you could definitely have a VW made from this gun - but again are we talking just the chassis? Or also test chassis, transmission, gears, road bearings and the whatnots? Depends also on what VW you want - the Buggy Beetle or the van or the VW concept luxury car (soz on this on - I can't help being playful :P)

  • and thats how you end a big war with a big fucking gun on a railroad

  • Good choice of music.

  • Megatron!

  • germany would have won the war if the americans hadnt entered ww2

  • @mercer255 I think they would have if they didnt invade Russia in mid winter.

  • @mozebasic at the same day as napoleon

  • hitler invaded russia in june 1941 by the way why are people always saying that germany lost because of the winter?? I mean germany fought 3 years in russia!! Germany had 3 summers time to win there but didnt!! Russians are to strong for westerners!! germany can mess with france, holland or england but never with russians!! Russians kill germans whenerver they want

  • @mentorpodgorica Hm, well, i dont want to start a conversation, but when i read comments like yours... i have to and no, i am NOT a Nazi!

Germany had the chance to win in WW2 against the soviets. Just look at the facts, Germany had about 3 Million soldiers in russia, and they killed about 18 million soviets.. so? They didnt had a chance? well, i guess there were just to many soviets. There was a chance for Hitler, he just did it to early.

  • @mentorpodgorica you seem to be forgetting that germany never invaded britain, where occupied on two fronts when they were fighting russia and that russia was recieving supplies from britain without which they wouldn't have been able to fight back

  • @mozebasic: Do you think that June 22, 1941 is "mid winter"? Just askin' -- Yer puzzled pal, Ferrari Bubba

  • @Bubba61695 They were there for 3 years.

  • @mozebasic So, nazis were defeated by bad weather, is that what you are saying?

  • @mozebasic Yeah.

  • @mozebasic

we have lost the war basically because were to small and because our commanders were idiots chosen by hitler you can figure out wich kind of pouple they were

    sorry for bad english

  • @mozebasic nomatter when we invatted russia even tho we had all are guns, tanks, everything better they had more men and more worse equipment then we do good equipment they had 40x more ppl they had 12,000,000 we only had 1,000,000 so we had to retreat but we still killed a shit load of them. a hole lot of them

  • @mercer255

Do you really believe that? I mean okay the war was already lost for the germans 2 years before the first american soldier landed in the normandy and fought against a broken german army. America can take credit that europe wasn't overrun by russians after the war.

  • @mercer255 good thing that we (i'm german) didn't have won the war because if germany had won , it would be civil war today..or just until hitler is dead . or do you think , everbody near new created germania would love this victory?

  • @mercer255 the wehrmacht was the best military force in ww2 but you can't win against the whole world. Im german but im glad that our army failed because i don't like the nazi regim. The weapons of the wehrmacht were pretty good. Some of these weapon are in other styles in modern armys too. The ww2 is a part of our history and we should learn about these inventions in ww2 because some nazi inventions were really effective in ww2

  • @mercer255 dude USA didn't do shit in the war, Americans sucked dick in WW2, took them years to join after Canada did, and yet they still call Canadians ridiculous..

Dumbshit4brains.. America really didn't help as much as the other countries did..

  • @gamerdude1246 < But they do get their history lessons from "holly" wood :)

There is theory out there, British intelligence gave Japanese idea of attacking Pearl Harbor which justified their entering into the war. Germany was a good ally of USA, helping Europe to get their transcontinental railway and biofuel technology. British set up Hitler as an agent to start war on Soviet.

Did this gun do anything or just waste of steel ?

  • @Zeno1999 It is said the Schewere Gustav and Dora were theoretically excellent weapons and quite powerful in thier purpose for all extents of smashing forts and sieges but that was about it; the fact that the Germans eventually failed to take Leningrad after 2.5 years of a seige, combined with the advancing Red Army by 1944 meant the Germans had to break up the gun and destroy as much evidence on them as possible though remains were uncovered. In all - impressive feat of military engineering

  • @Zeno1999 But in all? A general waste of raw war materials unfortunately - so actually both impressive and a failure - look at the Japanese battleships Musashi and Yamato - the most powerful and impressive pieces of Naval Technology in WWII by the Japanese yet they were humbled and destroyed by airpower - advent of the aircraft carriers - impreesive for military parade and strength/pride but in terms of costs and resources - a bitter waste :(

  • @gamerdude1246 Oh really? As I recall it we ended WW2 with our atomic bombs you faggot pussy canadian

  • @cooper8318 Dont forgett that many germans worked on the atomic bomb , and the princip of the atomic bomb is e=mc² which came from einstein , just sayin !

  • @cooper8318 LOL, that's only for Japan idiot, who the fuck cares about Japan? the REAL enemy was the Nazi's you didn't do shit against the Nazi expect fight beside the British against the weakest German division during D-Day, also, pussy? Lol, it took you 2 years to join WW2 after we did, history shows how Canadians were 10x more active and brave then you were..
