  • Hi Nick - In this video I'm working with C6 sensors. The C5 procedure is quite different from the C6. On your C5 you don't use the fob at all, you use the DIC buttons to put the C5 into the learn mode, then you use a magnet on each sensor to trigger them. Each sensor has a battery in it and they will wear down over time. When you get new tires, have them put the sensors back on the corner they were on and no programming will be required.

  • I have a C5 - 2002 Corvette and was wondering when sensor triggering is needed to be done? In the next month I will be getting 4 new tires . When I get them put on, will I have to trigger the sensors or is triggering only done when new sensors are installed? Also, is there a battery or some source of power in the sensor itself that may need to be changed at some time? Thanks for this video, it has taught me a lot and brought up some questions I hadn't thought of before...

    Nick

  • Thank you very much for your info. video, that really make it easy for me!!

  • what are these sensors for?

  • Hi - Those are tire pressure sensors. They send the tire pressure to the Tire Pressure Monitor System in the car, and the tire pressure is displayed on the dash. Many sensors require a tool like this to set up the system when you rotate the tires or have to replace a sensor. All cars will be required to have a TPMS and sensors in the tires starting this fall with the 2008 model year. Corvettes have had pressure sensors for more than 15 years.
