I respect the beatles for all that theyve done, but zeppelin in my opinion is so much better and diverse. I think the only thing beatles did for zeppelin was getting americans interested in british bands and music, i dont think they influenced zeppelin musically.

Also, it seems a bit to me that using the attendance record as an example is inviting comparison to The Beatles in other ways [Led Zep are as big as The Beatles] - when there are many other Beatles statistical records that still stood at that time, and when the whole thing about The Beatles were that they were a cultural force in a way that only Dylan (in popular music) could almost lay claim to coming close to.

Quite an exciting intro., but I don't really understand the point as the attendance record set by The Beatles had stood for 7 years by the time Zep broke it - 7 years in which music tours and techology and the size of the audiences had changed (increased) so much that it's a testament to The Beatles that the record stood that long.

in dazed and confused, page cracked out a violin bow and began playing his guitar with it while in the middle of a lazer square. thats gonna look amazing on the dvd. since i been loving you was good but i wish plant hadnt stopped singing the chrus half way through. when you watch them you realise that page holds the whole group together though. I watched prince a month ago but i have never seen guitar playing as frantic and passionate as jimmy and i never will again i doubt.

there is obviously going to be a DVD of the concert becuase if you click on a vidoe of the concert it will say it is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Warner, which basically means they want you to buy the DVD when it comes out.
