My Aunt is handicap and is dying of cancer at the moment. I took no offense to the word being used because it was used in the right context. Besides that, Ben Stiller looked completely ridiculous in that get up as Simple Jack, which made me almost shit my pants.

I do have issues with boycotting movies, but I think the reason people are pissed off is because people think it's ok to use the word retarded. My son has Down syndrome and DS are always the butt of jokes and it is hurtful them and those who love them. My son is seen in many eyes as if he is non-human. There is a hurtful history behind their treatment. Just 30 years ago they were put and institutions and hidden from the rest of the world. Not many parents speak out on it because they think it may get worse, but it has always been offensive. As a black women and proud parent, I am offended equally by the "N" word.
