  • @MrBadbananas can't do win7 home? Damnit...

  • this shit sucks. I have the newer one with Win Vista. Fuck it. It can't even play movies.

  • @AsianPerson3 Well theres your problem, you have Vista on it. XP runs so much smoother than Vista, especially on netbooks. You should consider installing XP or Windows 7 and you'll notice a huge performance increase. I tweaked my netbook so much I was able to run F.E.A.R. on low/medium settings.

  • @adem44a WHATTT?? Win7 here I come.

  • Does it have a CD ROM thing to put cds in it?

  • dude ur pc sucks

intel? the only good intel processor is i5 and above

  • @gman570p My main PC is an AMD Phenom II x4 overclocked to 4GHZ, Nvidia GTX 480, and 8 GB DDR3.

I only use this netbook for small stuff on the go. Genius >_>

  • @adem44a fucking sweet

  • Andrew Bravener!

  • IS IT COOKIE?!?!?

  • Hey man, how does it run youtube 1080p videos? Thank!

  • @BeAsTm0aD

    Unfortunately it doesn't support 1080p.

However I think some of the Nvidia ION based netbooks can.

Look around at Asus and HP's line of netbooks for the models with Nvidia ION graphics cards in them.

Not 100% sure, but its worth the time to check out. :)

  • is the 1gb ram enough? it doesnt seem like it would be practical to be running that many programs in it anyway so how's the 1gb ram doin for ya? i'm glad you mentioned you can upgrade to 2gb just in case 1gb isn't enough...cuss that 1gb ram is really what's itching my neck...besides that...i got the money in my hand ready to buy =P. great review

  • 1gb of ram will be fine,

However, I think it is well worth the 20-30$ to upgrade to a 2gb stick.

You will notice the difference when running multiple programs at once.

  • hey. how do you like this netbook? can it handle watching movies, surfing the net, and just basic stuff? i see you have Steam on there? how does it handle games?

im thinking on getting this but im not sure. can you please help me? thanks.

  • dont buy it, it only for ms office and internet. cant play games or do something more, besides eyes start to hurt soon :/

  • hmm,

well sir, you are entitled to your opinion,

but i must say, I've enjoyed playing many of my favorite games such as Half-Life, F.E.A.R, WoW, Quake Live, Diablo II and many more.

I also find it gives the same amount of eye strain as any other laptop screen.

  • I LOVE THIS LAPTOP! IT SAVED MY LIFE

  • oh yea i also forgot how much is it?

  • does it come with windows on it?

  • ur a discrase to mac :(

  • does it have a cd/dvd drive on it?

  • Of course not, its a netbook for christ sake.

  • i have 4 gigs of ram in mine

    win xp home

  • wow does it run smooth?

  • yeah i changed to ubutu 9.04 im a 1st time linux user but it is fairly easy and super fast

  • im gonna get this netbook from futureshop. can anyone tell me if this acer from this link

    tinyurl (dot) com/nzfzjs

comes with linux or xp? thanks you

  • Yes, that is the same model.

It comes with windows XP home.

  • do you have the six or the three cell battery in?

  • 3 cell,

the 6 cell sticks out a bit in the back.

  • Where can I buy a 2G stick for this netbook?

  • What would you perfer the AOA or AOD?

  • Definitely the AOD, It is a lot easier to upgrade the ram (search on youtube to see how much work it takes to switch the ram on the AOA).

Also the AOD has a bigger screen than the AOA.

I really recommend getting the AOD.

  • i tink i spotted steam.. show us some gameplay O_O

  • its not wifi?

  • It has wifi.

  • i think msi wind better model

  • I plan on getting a netbook, should i get this model?

  • Yes,

Make sure you get the newer one though.

The older aspire one only has a 8.9" screen, this one has a 10.1" screen.

It is also 100 times easier to change the ram in the newer one

I really suggest you get this model,

or if you have the money, get the Asus N10.

Its a lot better, but almost cost twice as much as the aspire one.

  • what can you tell me about its hard drive?

  • Its 160GB,

and its really easy to replace/upgrade.

  • well My question is How to I transfer my files?

  • Oh, well I guess you could just get a USB flashdrive and just transfer, or network your main computers hard drive, and transfer you files like that.

  • OO well I called up my supersmart friend and he said to get a harddrive case or shell, then use some free software to transfer all the files

  • Do you know what kind of ram to use when you upgrade this? I'm getting this same one in a couple weeks and want to upgrade it to 2 gigs.

  • I upgraded it with a stick of 2 GB DDR2 667mhz ram. Its basically just normal laptop ram. Fairly cheap too.

    Good luck. :P

  • Ok thanks, I'll check that out.

  • Do you have any problems with the screen only being 10.1 inches? Just wanted to ask because somebody was trying to talk me out of getting something this small.

  • The 10.1" screen is fine for me, it really depends on your preferences, if you want a really portable laptop then 10.1" is great, but if you want a more powerful laptop with less portability then a 14.9 or 15.1 will probably suit you more.

  • Well I'm going to try it, I think it should be fine for me... and I do like how portable it is.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHH

    I'LL "UPGLADE" YOU!

New plug-in upglade! Doesn't just mask odours, it eliminates them!

    lawl hi adem:)

  • good camera quality

  • awesome...thanks adem44a.

  • Do the "hotkeys" function correctly according to the manual? Specifically the following: Fn + F1; Fn + F2; Fn + F3. On my netbook, they do not. Should i be concerned that it is a symptom of a bigger problem? I've emailed Acer support about this, but they must be really busy. Laters.

  • Hey,

Theres a program that came with the aspire one called "Launch Manager".

If you uninstall it or exit it, the hotkeys wont work.

Check in the bottom right hand corner of the screen on the taskbar, if you don't see the launch manager icon (looks like a hand pointing to a circle) then try to find it in the program files/start menu and start it up. If the icon is there and the hotkeys are still not working, then you may have a problem you should take up with acer. I hope that helps.

  • From what I read online, the ram can be upgraded to 2gb with a DDR2 module

  • Thats good, thanks.

Also, do you still know the link to site that you found that on?

The only site I found was in German so I couldn't understand much. :P

  • I read it on one of the reviews on newegg. Look up review for AOD150 Blue.

I got one coming, ordered yesterday. Hope it comes soon.

  • Hey thanks,

I dont know why I didn't check out newegg in the first place :)

  • stupid question but do those little green things on the sides light up?

  • That would be kool, sadly they dont.

They're just plastic covers, and they're only green on the white model. :(

  • Is your battery 3 cell battery?

  • Its the 3 cell,

The 6 cell version sticks out a bit in the back.
