what are you talking about? Qing dynasty forced manchu dress onto the han chinese who wore other costumes, now called hanfu. Foot binding was just a fashion during the qing dynasty.
Qipao is ethnically from the MANCHU. The true costumes of the han chinese are hanfu.
i am greek but i generally love the chinese culture!architecture, harmony of everything, food, women even their fighting equipment at ancient times!i think chinese people must not leave these things to be forgoten..

I'm a Scottish man, I used to prefer the Western ideal of blue-eyed blonde women with big boobs, which ideal most of my long-term girlfiends conformer too. I met a number of HK Chinese women through my passion for ballroom and Latin dancing. I wasn't looking for a relationship, and I found them to be much more pleasant than their Western sisters, and much more feminine-- slim, demure, temperate and without a foul mouth. Although I was not wanting a realtionship, it happened!
When i met her at a dance class, she thought i was rude and aggressive, and I thought she was a stuck-up snob. I asked her to dance just to annoy her.
The first time I danced with her I felt electricty flow between us-- she is a superb dancer and we agreed to be dance partners. At one big dance I persauded her to wear a cheongsam--the most beautiful of national dresses. She took my breath away - white silk, golden skin, jet-black hair.
of what? the clothing in the video? Oh here we go again: the historically accurate Chinese traditional clothing (Hanfu) gave rise to the Kimono and the Hanbok of Korea, hence the similarity. The dresses the women are wearing aren't kimonos at all if you paid attention. the "Chinese Dress" you're familiar with was invented in 1920, modelled after Manchurian clothing.
@xThEtTiEx WTF?? Dumb white person who don't know Chinese culture but think he knows everything from watching TV decide to make a fool out of himself on youtube!! LOL!!
Chanceuse028@ Ya maybe its a big trend ( western trend ) to admire tall , maked up girl. But who really give a Shiit in the end !!?? When I find my life partner, I tend to follow our OWN trational preference not other races stardard of beauty!!

There was the empire, and then there were the starving and uneducated people who could not attend school and who could not do a lot of things that the emperor was allowed to do. Chinese people were very, very short in ancient China and only 100 years ago. As you can tell there are no paintings of actual people in Chinese history, just stick figures with curvy lines. The reason is because nobody could get to the emperor's chambers. There was really no such thing. Nowadays, the West is helping.

The artists wanted Chinese women to look slender, tall, and nourished, because they were not any of those. China can now take pictures of women wearing anything but ancient clothes and give across the perception that that is how China was, but Chinese women didn't look like that at all. How could they at 4 feet 5 inches.
It's all point of view. Things look odd when viewed from different points in history. But one thing that's constant is the level of emotion and appreciation which is specific to the mind at that period. What we see as beautiful will be frowned upon by someone looking at us from a time in the far future.
@nuetralist Well..it's not every day to see Southern Chinese girls that tall~ I'm already one of those "rejected" tall girls XD...b/c for some reason most the Asian guys around me are shorter...
@InuHunter Lol -______- Who says I am a girl ??!! I am a 21 year old MAN !!! ya my my parents are short, my mother only 158 cm : ) but dont know why I grow up much taller them them ^_^
@InuHunter i'm 180cm. dad/mom chinese... depending where you are, asians are taller or shorter... i think it is better nutrition. these days we are all about 180cm. seriously, been to hk, taiwan, or singapore or china lately? i like tall women too ;)

Ancient Chinese beauty is not real. The woman were incredibly malnourished and very small only 100 years ago. Pictures don't show that. Artists would draw pictures of what they wanted women to look like slender. So the art you see is not actually how Chinese women looked, it is how men had wanted Chinese women to look.
I really enjoy this type of music and sound; sounds pure and simple in its making; that is not to say this is easy to play, but I meant there are not many many instruments but just one. love it! thank you to wsooss for uploading for all to enjoy!
