"For all the peoples walk everyone in the name of his god; and we will walk in the name of Yahweh, OUR EVERLASTING FATHER, WHO IS OUR ELOHIM, forever and ever."
(Micah 4:5 Isaiah 64:8)
Christians have removed the names of Yahweh and Yahshua from their bibles and replaced them with Lord and God! Following doctrines of men. For thou shall not change the word of Yahweh!Deuteronomy 4:2
Thomas Jefferson was referred to as a 'Deist' not because he fits the modern perception of such but because, unlike George Washington and John Adams, Thomas Jefferson would occasionally miss Church on Sunday due to his seclussive nature. Thomas Jefferson was a timid person who avoided large groups. What was he doing? He was reading and writing philosphy... Christian philosphy. He and Madison never wrote in separation of Church and state in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence.
"..the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion.."
- Treaty of Tripoli, signed by President John Adams,
passed by the third UNANIMOUS vote of the American congress
"I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved-- the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!"
"The Bible is not my book and Christianity is not my religion."
- Abraham Lincoln
"I have recently been examining all the known superstitions of the world, and do not find in our particular superstition (Christianity) one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology."
- Thomas Jefferson
"If thou trusteth to the book called the Scriptures, thou trusteth to the rotten staff of fables and falsehood."
"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity, in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution."
- James Madison "Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise."
- James Madison, fourth president and father of the Constitution
thomas jefferson was diest, and supported human freedom, like freedom of religion, or freedom of religion, meaning making church and state seperate, so we dont have argue over 200 years later over who has the right to get married, or has the right to thier own body.
Pat Buchanan is WRONG. 90% of Americans, Pat? More like about 55%. But so what, even if it was 99% their rights are for the courts do decide. The majority can't rule about the rights of a minority. It doesn't matter if most believe gays shouldn't have rights. The founders set up institutions to prevent the minority opinion from being silenced and their rights being trammpled. But'll I'll throw you this only the state supreme courts should rule on gay marriage, not the Federal Supreme Court.
Faith IS EVERYTHING in this nation. Don't push God farther away. We have separated ourselves from him more and more and there has been more crime, more suicides, more druf addiction, more divorces. Doesnt anyone get it!!
The first amenment is give people the right to free speech and religion but it also give people freedon and protection from religion. Don't for get that.

In GW's farewell address he speaks of "RELIGION," NOT "Christianity" in particular. America was founded to be a "religious" NOT a "Christian Nation."

Seperation of church and state is important because we live in a democracy and not a theocracy. Faith is not everything in this country.
