Recheck your facts and don't do a video if you don't know anything. Roman gods are NOT Greek gods with different names. And please check pronunciation next time you make a video please.
@abartig8 Are you sure? Rome was founded by the two brothers, Romulus and Remus, whose ancestor was Aeneis (Greek), who led the survivors form the ruins of the Troy. He was said by the god of the son, Apollo, that he should go to Italy and to settle down. I don't want to talk more about this story. the fact is that he brought Greek religion with himself. later Romans changed their names, as an example, Jupiter (Zeus),... And the Gods of the home, were Troyan Gods.....
And the Aeneid is fiction, it is not historical. The Romans are not actually descended from the Trojans or anything like that. It was written when the Romans were in awe of the Greeks and they wanted to link their history to them. This happens a lot, even the Irish re-wrote their myths when they started becoming influenced by classical civilization to explain how they came from Adam and Eve, how they had Greek and Scythian ancestors and other non-sense.
@Ambiduros Not necessarily. We have little idea about the origins of Rome other than the fact that they were wanderers and adventurers. Troy fell around 800 BC and the traditional year of the founding is about 775 BC. Could Trojan refugees have escaped the conflagration and gone to Italy? It's not proven, but it is possible.
The shocking part of myths are always how much of them are actually true...
@abartig8 ..... whose names were later translated into Latin.
P.S. I have read a lot of books about ancient Rome and Greece, and I must tell you that I really enjoy in it. So, if you don't agree with me, tell me who the Roman Gods were, in the case that my theory is false
The Latin Gods already existed before they had any contact with the Greeks, what they did was identify their pre-existing Gods with the Greek ones. So Iupater/Jupiter was identified with Zeus Pateras (similar names, because all Europeans are descended from a common ancestor before "Romans" or "Greeks" existed). The only one that was new to them and they 'got' from the Greeks was Apollo.
Love your channel! However I respectfully suggest you recheck Vulcan's dominion as lord of the underworld. I think Pluto would be a trifle annoyed by this! Vulcan and his Greek counterpart Hephaestus were the Smith Gods of both pantheons. Pluto and his Greek counterpart Hades ruled over the Underworld. Unless Vulcan's role had an earlier association with the underworld much the same way Rome's Mars was an agriculture god before taking the mantle of war I think this may be an error. Take care.
The "numina" theory was successfully discredited in the 1960's, most notably by Georges Dumezil.
