Man........I got chills when the music started. I have always loved the intro. I had a PS1 that couldn't use memory cards so I had to restart Final Fantasy VIII countless times but the intro truly made me want to come back for me. FF8 is definitely my favorite 3D turn based RPG. I'd love a remake!!!

I've heard rumours that they're considering an ff8 movie, because of the success of advent children, but it's just a rumour. They're making Dissidea (An ff fighting game with characters from every ff)

FF8 was a good romance story, but I love FF7 purley because of Zack and Cloud's story, it's just heartbreaking. At least Seifer lived at the end of ff8

That game had an almost infinite replay value. You could imagine any challenge and try to complete the game with it. I have a file at the last boss with no exp levels gained, yet all objects, cards, etc. The game balance was fantastic. Gimme a graphic clean up version of THAT any day...

Liberi Fatali is my Fave Song in this Game XD They did a great job making this scene fit so perfectly with the song, especially when Seifer is about to hit Squall XD

if they did make this movie- it would sell more than advent children IF they had REAL ACTORS or had the whole story line (no tinkering) in like 2-3 dvd's. i mean it would seem long but look at LORD OF THE RINGS...

Final fantasy 7- an immersive masterpiece which will always be one of my favourites.

Final fantasy 8- Immense gameplay,fantastic use of junction system and the graphics even NOW look smooth and detailed.(albeit too easy. You can basically get squall powerful enough for an instakill within 45 minutes of play.)

Between the 2, 8 takes my vote. 7 loses points because of the simplicity of sephiroth at the end. Ultimecia at the end of ff8 posed more of a challenge than jenova/sephiroth on ff7.

No. Final Fantasy 7 is, and will remain my favorite, but they went TOO FAR. They should not have made Dirge of Cerberus. They should have left it alone. They just need to leave these masterpieces ALONE before they're ruined.

I'll admit though I loved Advent Children, but it was a very very risky move. I vote to just leave FF8 alone, lol.

The story and the gameplay are good. It's never been because of the mini games or because their friends like it, and it definitely isn't confusing so long as you actually pay attention to it.

Anyone who says that FF7 lacks a storyline clearly didn't understand the story. FF7's story is has the most depth of any FF story. For years there were theories about what really happened. Was Sephiroth really a villain? Was he just Jenova's pawn? Was he special in any way or was everything special about him really a manifestation of Jenova? This went on until 2005 when the Ultimania came out.

SQUARESOFT did that big announcement and build up to FF8 the main one being the intro was created using the PS2 emotion engine. i never saw a game look that good on PS2. not even now its its twilight year.
