The whole damn change was unnecessary. Greedo was supposed to bring Han into Jabba, he even gives him a big speech about it and Jabba clearly wants Han alive. Greedo randomly trying to kill Han is counter productive. Not to mention the fact that Greedo works for a dangerous gangster who is clearly unhappy with Han and is threatening him in a bar, gives Han just about all the justification he needs for self defense. The whole supposed concept that Greedo MISSES when that close, and that it even 'needed' to be changed when it was already perfect...Han shoots first after his great 'I bet you have' line, which is part of what made AUDIENCES LOVE HIM...you know, showing him to be a bad ass 'character', something Lucas lost his ability to WRITE...is absolute SHIT.

Also, GREEDO HAD A GUN ON HIM AND THE APPARENT WILLINGNESS TO USE IT. I doubt any court in the universe (ours, or one a long time ago in a galaxy far far away) would convict Han of murder, or even manslaughter, in that case.
