George Lucas created and ruined Star Wars. Thank God he didn't direct The Empire Strikes Back and The Return Of The Jedi. There are many directors and actors who deserve a lifetime achievement award but Lucas is not one of them. But I must admit he did an excellent film, THX1138.

Yes, James Cameron may have a lot of money, but he made a similar legendary film right out of the bag with The freakin Terminator. He just recently made another legendary film about blue people. Does he get one of these awards?? Nooo!

It took Alfred Hitchcock up to a year before he died to get one. So, this is bullshit IMO.

@LukeLovesRose tell you what, how many people are still watching terminator and having it influence them significantly, probably not even an 80th of the people who still watch and are influenced by just the original trilogy. avatar's popularity is fading fast, 1-2 years from now it'll be another faded fad movie, in no way did cameron change film making or society. he just made a few films that went big for a bit because they were flashy
