They're pretty common here, but they blend in very well and are often overlooked as a branch, stick, leaf or twig. This little guy just didn't blend in with my plow..lol.
They're Nationally protected last I knew. That's an adolescent male.....I've had many on the property that were three times his size. Neat little insects! Thanks for the 5s Bill!!
