BAAFF + SIM will be presenting a screening of 'PAPERS' in BOSTON, MA on 8/10, 6:30pm at Tufts Medical Center, Wolff Auditorium! For more info, go to baaff.org
Once they start to ask this kid (Lara) what he thinks should be done, that's where things start to unravel. Why a $5,000 fine? Why not $10,000, $100,000? Why not renounce any other citizenship in your parent's country? Why not throw in a 8 year stint in the USMC in Afghanistan followed by 4 years providing hospice care to AIDS victims. Why not raise the bar, so that most will take the attrition option, and never again will the fed gov't be permitted to let immigration get so out of hand.
@slapking12 After highschool my plan was to join the military maybe marines or navy. I went to a college fair where military recruits wer and was turned down heavly. Not only by them but by all the colleges except community colleges. I wnder how different life would be if I could have been born here
Hey guys.. I know what you mean that the reporter was a bit aggressive.. yea for sure. but I think there's a method to the madness of the reporter.. Middle America needs to see the reporter's manner because that is going to be their reaction. . to the Dream Act. He is catering to that audience. Peace and Love.
wtf man, so this anchor man thinks every undocumented person or youngsters in the U.S. speaks Spanish. What a fucking bias son of a bitch. Not every undocumented person in the U.S. is Spanish speaking or from South America.
You are very biased, how can you generalize the Cuban community as a group of tools? I understand that there is a producer, but a anchor, such as Lu Dobs, would not give the sympathy this man is giving.
@carly35 That's exactly right but the U.S. is behond this. Most cubans end up being Republicans plus they look more white than other hispanics. I honestly do not agree that they should give them so much and kids like Walter so little. It's pathetic.
@Smileyyy21 That's exactly the bias I'm talkin 'bout: Cubans are whiter, than the "mexican-looking-people" who are invading your landscape, so they go under the radar of americans. That's all. I bet when you see laborers next to u, you either look the other way, or worse yet, strike a conversation.
Keeping your eyes closed is the easiest thing you ever did. Looking the other way, the second. That makes y'all a bunch of assholes for now wanting to deport people after they've served u for years.
Look, people who were not born in a country and are in a country without the permission of the Government of that country is ILLEGALLY in that country. We may not like it, but it is legally right.
My beef is with people who were resident in a country for 25, sometimes 30 years and more who did not think it necessary to get citizenship, but comitted a crime. After "release" from prison, that person is deported to their country of birth, where there are no relatives. That is just not right.
Good publicity to raise some awareness on the issue. But I feel like interview lacks some quality. The main reporter seems a bit aggressive in his approach, leaving hardly any room to elaborate on what can be done to help the status of undocumented students. I believe that the problem boils down to establishing a program that will help students EARN a path to citizenship and Work towards attaining that goal of citizenship.

I fully support the Dream Act. Military service or college in order to qualify is fine with me.

No, a tool wouldn't promote such a documentary.
lmrcobalt 2 years ago
TRUST ME. he is a tool. like many cuban kids grew up to be.
you analogy is bias. but first of all, do you know who a show producer is?
is the person who puts content - up - on - a - show.
ricky is an anchor. a latino anchor. and cuban.
