  • Next month I will be seeing a natural healer and I will let you know how it goes. But from your experience can you tell me if we can still exercise? Worried with my over active heart rate may be dangerous.

Also, I am glad you mentioned you are putting weight as so far all doctors are telling me I should be loosing weights but in fact I am gaining.

  • @onlyme3879 I was allowed to do Yoga only.. no running and no going to the gym.

Until my heart rate improved I was allowed to do mild cardio work at the gym, but other than that, walking is fine and yoga is perfect!

With Hyperthyroid, you'll gain weight when you take your medication to get better.. however with Hypothyroid it's the opposite affect.

  • We thank you for a inspiring video...I have been diagnosed with graves disease about 6 months ago and depression has hit me. I can easily get upset over nothing, but nothing to tragic, just have mood swings...I went on tablets but they just made me sleep all day and night and lost so much hope.

  • @onlyme3879 You're welcome!! Thank you for watching, I am trying my best to make people aware of this disease and if anyone who is affected could also share their stories.. It really sucks when we're always tired/stressed/moody and have no explanation for it (sometimes I used to think I was going crazy) - but I am thankful to know that it was my health that was causing this. :)

  • for some reason can not post?

  • oh, I forgot to mention that thryoid problems run in my mom's side of the family (have cousins that are both hypo and hyper). And i am also a carrier of diabetes. Both things signal a definite possibility of me having a thyroid condition some time in my life. ( how do I know for sure though) My eyes do look a lot rounder and bigger (like an anime cartoon character)

  • @SuperErik989 It is beneficial to get your blood tested to see your t2/t3/tsh levels to determine if you have a thyroid disease, sometimes we're blessed to have a fast metabolism but when it's towards the point of hyperthyroidism then it's best to be aware and get it treated before long term symptoms kick in. Take care and all the best :)

  • me off

  • I have also lost weight while averaging 2500 calories daily for an active man. I have had other symptoms; my fingers are beggining to club, my nails look whiter, I have pain in my eyes, my hair is getting thin, my neck is feeling uncomfortable, I have mild tremors, my heartrate has gone up from 65 to about 95, I have problems going to bed, I have difficulty concentrating in class, my adam's apple looks bigger, I hate being in the heat, it's hard for me to get cold, and the littlest things piss

  • Shit!!!! I think I may have it too. Here is my life story; I use to be overweight and HATED it. I started running everyday and lost 65 pounds. But lately, I have been losing too much weight, I am a man that weighs 115 pounds. I have been getting hungry lately, it takes ALOT to fill up my stomach. I have eaten up to eight tacos one night, I went to the fair last weekend and LITERALLy ate something from EVERY booth, I have eaten up to 5000 calories but haven't gained a pound, actually lost weight

  • Thanks for sharing. My daughter also has graves disease. She was 10 at DX. :( Her eyes look very much like yours...I look forward to showing her this to help her understand her disease.

  • @bookitty256 You're welcome, I plan to upload a new video soon because it's been over a year now since I have been diagnosed. I hope all the best for your daughter :)

  • hello! my name is lulu..and i'm 24 years old..i was diagnosed with thyroid and grave's disease just 2 months before you..i was on june 2010..it has been almost one year now..but your eyes are not badly effected..they look fine.=) but my condition is bad..i have bulging eyes and bulging neck..sometimes i feel so embarrassed because people are staring at me..how do u cope with urs? i feel so sad with myself and i feel so bad..=(

  • @LuluHeeNim Hello Lulu, I am sorry to hear that your eyes were affected, let me know how your medication has been going? I cope by trying my best to stay positive (as corny as it sounds) I have support from my boyfriend and others in my life.. But don't think I wasn't sad either.. I spent a few months after being diagnosed moping around about being sick (lol!!) .. however things pick back up :) Chin up and all the best to your recovery!!!~

  • Good luck and it seems you have the right attitude. I hope things will get better for you.

  • @luvmakeup1000 Thank you!~ I started off feeling very low about it all, but I am feeling better and trying to stay positive most of the time. :D
