  • just now found that WGTB is back - I moved in 1976 - I have many hours of cassette recordings from 90.1 that I made between 1971 & 1976. ...many different folks doing the call letters - like Prof Mota, and the farewell speech from the "rotella alley" DJ...I have also a brief 8mm film segment from an outdoor music fest they put on in 1974, one of many - I forget what they called those events...also got when they played some early demo tapes by "HTM" and one by "Face Dancer" - the whaler-.

  • Yup, WGTB was indeed at Georgetown Univ - not George Washington Univ - too many George's in this town - lol..... It was the most amazing station I've ever heard. We ran a huge petition drive to keep the format when the Univ admins decided to change it. We obviously were not successful and DC lost something very special.

  • This is Michael Quatro's 'Collaboration of the Gods' *I have it on vinyl, btw*

  • In Collaboration with the Gods... and Rick Derringer on guitar.

  • I actually remembered this song from back there! Thanx 4 this!

ps...But was not WGTB on the Georgrtown campus?

  • Ouverture - Piero Bussi

  • Michael Quatro....Adagio

  • It's called "Spasm for Juanita".

  • I am over-awed by the response to this posting. Amazingly, this has been

remastered to CD and can be purchased at

cafepress along with what appears to be all his albums.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped.

Merry Christmas and peace to all...

  • objimmy was really on target. Thanks!! A member of a Yahoo group I'm in passed it around to his friends and found out it is indeed Michael Quatro's "In Collaboration With The Gods"!!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped.

Merry Christmas and peace to all...

  • Does anyone remember that War of the Worlds musical rendition? Could this be it?

  • Thin Lizzy's guitarist Gary Moore and Colusseum II. Maybe?? Need to look around a bit.... Valdez.

  • Well, it's definitely an adaptation of a piece of classical music. Ask someone well versed in classical music to identify it, and you'll be on your way to figuring out who it is.

  • good luck man prog rock isn't my thing but I checked to see if I could help you out. I had a song that I looked for, for 25 years. Just this year I found it was Bill Nelson's Tender is the Night. anyway I put a shout out to some internet friends hopefully they will be along to help.. its probably someone obvious.

  • Groovy!

  • They used a mellotron extensively here. So look in Wikipedia under Mellotron, there is a part '1970s and progressive rock' which names quite a few songs which has a mellotron in it. See if its named there.

    Hope this helps.
