  • Don't get me wrong I still liked the song, I just don't agree with some of it though.

  • "Minorities comprise the majority."

"The lies rely on brown bodies to fight for white puppet masters."

I'm sorry I like Blue Scholars, but I just cannot agree with that any less, idk where he got his facts but that's a lie. Every single person including me on the future soldier program where my recruiting station is, are all white. Now, I'm not trying to discredit anyone or any group but the majority of people in the military (in all branches) are white and by a far majority.

  • @Westphal93 You realize you just disputed a creative metaphor with an anecdotal tale of confirmation bias, right? After some critical thinking and taking in account a lot of the context of their other works, I believe this passage is conveying the contempt for the political ruling class enacting false flag operations and blatant falsehoods to encourage those under them to commit to their bidding; the poor, in particular, minorities are often the victims of such.

  • @Westphal93 The author is black so obviously he will be relating more to non-white races and ethnicities and although the line may be hyperbolic (derp, it's art; art should, by definition, maintain an exterior of hyperbole in order to effective communicate a message), there really isn't enough factual evidence to stand up and say, "That's wrong!" The DoD stopped releasing real demographic information a long time ago and fact or truth doesn't mean you saying, "But I only saw white people!".

  • @defluxatory The author is Filipino, not black. And according to the DoD in 2008 70% or more of all recruits (across the board, Army, Air Force, etc.) were white. I'm not trying to get into an argument about it but get what I'm trying to say correct. Saying the Brown bodies fight for their white puppet masters would be racist, I don't know how else you could put it, my family has done nothing wrong towards anybody based on their race, so how am I "White Master." We have a all-volunteer military

  • @Westphal93 By that same token, I can hand you anecdotal evidence that while I was in basic training, there were only three or four white people including myself in a platoon of over ninety. If you analyze this song correctly and look at the overall feeling of the political atmosphere, you will find that this song is 100% spot on; it was relevant in 2004 and it is still relevant today. One would have to be pretty blind to deny that the poor and minorities are still victimized today.

  • @defluxatory I'm not denying that minorities are victimized, nothing I have said indicates that I believe that they aren't victimized, there is political tension there, much of which I agree with. But minorities are not the majority in the armed forces and if they are there, they chose to be there and that is all fact. Saying 'white masters' is racist as well, much of people in power are white, true. But there are many poor people that are white as well, it's not fair to put us all in one group.

  • One of my fav songs

  • Real. What is missing in America. In hiphop. A positive and life changing Message.

    "Minorities supply..."

  • best hip hop duo in the post 2005 era. rightfully leading hip hop into its second golden age.

"we're at critical mass- between a heavenly future and one hell of a past."

  • this artist is sooo faaat !

  • This song is ridiculous. This is real hip hop and i completely agree with everyone saying that this is better then the shit on the radio. But i have to agree with Kicker because Lil Wayne is a great artist despite being purely mainstream

  • who the hell clicked the dislike button?

  • @miltownchippewa he probably blinked.

  • "a critical mass, between a heavenly future and a helluva past"

  • someone have the lyrics,plz?

  • He wrote this song for his brother in Iraq.

  • this is sick

  • Wow, i see that there is mainly two groups of people there, the ones who like "fake hip-hop" and then the ones that bitch about it on "Real Hip-Hop" videos, I personally like this kind of music 100% better, but its getting old, everytime I go to a new song that I find, alls I see is "Thank God for this kind of music, no bullshit Lil' Wayne!" Like We ALL GET IT, you dont like lil wayne, but if you did your research you would find that Lil' Wayne's old stuff is actually pretty good, Just Saying

  • @KickerSwiss lol maybe they just found out about these people (like me) but i've been a fan of this type of music for a while but when i first even listened to any thing like this i was like that to .. weren't we all? but yeah some people need to just enjoy music

  • @MrDraggz Yup!.... 2-0-Sicknesss!!!!!

  • 2:52 to 3:02 is sooo sick.

  • i found this song when i was on pandora listening to "the hieroglyphics" radio station

  • This kind of music isnt for everybody cause all the fake gangbangin wannabes would rather hear about comin from the gutta and how they shot that slob or crab shit gets old after awhile. I like this music cause its relaxing and its coming from tha town...Town bidness Wat Up!

  • Good stuff.. There is very few good artists out there anymore.. You guys got my vote!

  • The one person who disliked this is a faggot.

  • @Opethownsj00 It was Lil wayne, He got pissed cause he doesn't understand the song at all. He can only understand simple concepts and shapes...

  • @Opethownsj00 how do u know theyre gay?

  • dammit missd the concert yesterday :(

  • WEEE NEED MORE OF THIS !!!

This this this this is FUCKIN!"#!"#"#% AWESOME: MOTHER FUCKER, I DON*T FUCKIN CARE WHAT THE FUCK YOU SAY: FUCK YOU AND YOUR FAGGOT LADY GAGA LIL WAYNE

  • i can't believe there was 1 person who disliked this song lmao

  • THIS IS PHENOMENAL.OMG, I NEVER THOUGHT I WILL EVER FIND ANY HIP HOP GROUP BETTER THAN THE ROOTS! WELL, I GUESS I WAS WRONG!

  • How dope would common market and blue scholars be if they did a song together.

  • @satchel1993 they have lol; the song is on common market's tobacco road album. they have the same dj/producer, so no surprise though.

  • Honestly who cares about lil wayne and all the other nerds? They arent getting my money, thats reserved for artists with talent like Blue Scholars, Common Market etc.

  • WOW!!!!!! by FAR one of the best hip hop I have ever heard amazing guys keep it up!!!!!

  • 2nd verse is illll!!! the song all together is dope as fuck!

  • Definitely real hip-hop!!!

  • Love the beginning.

  • top 5 favorite songs.. EVER.. this is real shit man.

  • Tight song.

  • Fresh!

  • fuck that. mainstream shit all sounds the same

  • People Good music doesn't belong in the mainstream haha well let me correct myself nothing good belongs in mainstream music I'm perfectly happy with these artist making great music for people like us because the second this shit goes mainstream these industries try to change every single fucking thing about these people and if you really love these guys like i do then you don't want them to change at all.

  • COME TO ENGLAND

  • Best songs to ride the mountain to.

  • you know whats up... nothing better than snowboarding with good tunes in the head

  • Man, this is tight.

  • theese guys go hard on pandora lol

  • Why can't this be played in the mainstream? I hear about these guys from Pandora radio.

  • same i luv pandora

  • Dope shitttt.

  • great song :)

  • Oh wow, I pooped a little when i first heard this song. Great rhymes, flow, beat, and a song with real meaning. Fucking pooped.

  • What in the hell would you do if you ever saw them live!?! Yikes :)

  • I saw them live, LOL. Just go apply to the University of Washington. They are alumini and play there basically every year.

  • Hah, well said man

  • @mianomike LMAO [accidently disliked]

  • This is amazing - it makes me feel the way some Mos Def and Immortal Technique songs do...just in awe

  • immortal technique is good, but not amazing enough to leave you awestruck, his flows are all the same

  • probably my favourite song from them

  • very impressive, this group has got me into hip hop, i used to listen exclusively to heavy metal.

blue scholars is the first group that i look up the lyrics to every song because they are so good. I agree, its poetry

  • Daaaamnnn!!!

Wow, this is disgraceful! not the song, the song is great.

But what i'm trying to say, is this is REAL hip-hop you know, and this video is getting what, 3 thousand and something hits, while Lil Wayne, and Gucci Maine and all those other mainstream people are getting millions of views.

    We are the 'select few'

    ANYONE AGREE?!

    xD

  • The chosen ones with the musical ear.....

  • yeah mainstream hip hop makes me sick

  • Comment removed

  • hell yea i do

  • @alphasold13r You work for Weezy? Otherwise stop giving him publicity. You know the old saying, "ANY publicity is good publicity!"

But apart from that, true talk. I think slowly people are bringing it back to the basics though.

  • @alphasold13r I agree, its nice to hear this instead of hearing songs about how hard they is and how hard they hood is and their sad stories.. gets annoying after awhile..

  • @alphasold13r Yes.... what you described is what's wrong with the "youth" of America these days... They don't get that hip-hop (and music in general) isn't about bitches and getting money. It's about real life and empowering one another to be as great as you can. I'm glad no B.S. like lil wayne came out of Seattle. A lot of people today don't understand these kind of things...

  • @alphasold13r I Feel it man, but dont trip on it. just know that we are keeping this amazing music underground and unabused my damn kube 93.3 playing that same lil wayne and tpain SONG EVERY DAY!!!

  • @hippofries

Exactly. The situation is fine the way it is. Get big money involved and you know the results

  • @alphasold13r i did until u put the xD face......... fag

  • @cassidyharman I was 14 when I wrote that. Fuck You.

  • @alphasold13r GTFO.

  • @alphasold13r More for us my man.

  • @alphasold13r well theres a reason...they are "mainstream" but its good if artist like this are more lowkey

  • This track is so intense. This isn't rap, this is poetry.

  • OMG i have known about Blue Scholars for like 10 hours and i have 30 songs and on going....goood shit man

  • lol my english teacher played this in class, giving it as an example of real poetry ^_^

  • Please tell me what school you go to so I can pack my things and move there.

  • your english teacher is awesome lol

  • @Zamazingbrancrunch51

  • @Zamazingbrancrunch51 cool teacher hahaha

  • @Zamazingbrancrunch51 god bless your teacher

  • @Zamazingbrancrunch51 really? HS engligh teacher? thats crazy!

  • @Zamazingbrancrunch51 My English And History Teacher played this also in class, which got me hooked to this song. but, it was just a form of entertainment - either way, he's got a good taste in music, and he's a Rock climber too.

  • @SmexxiWaffles your teahcer should of player loved life by slug but i can see how a history teacher would play this song to show imperialism and history for poetry
