i'm using the vlc option. but i have a later version of vlc (1.0.6) and when i convert the video instead of being 6 mins 16 seconds long it's 5 mins 16 seconds it's simply speed up and is terrible. aka HELP what have i done wrong?

What verison of VLC player are you using?

it still converts it to a big file.... over 50megs for me, for a 6min video.... even with making the bitrate 1000, and 128 for sound, it is over 40 megs... any suggestions?

Codecs themselves are OK but their usage may mean legal issues for users and distro developers.
