why is it disney could make a cooler beginning for a movie in the 90s but now they suck?! i miss being little and waiting for a movie to come on at 9:00 with this before it. It's sad that kids noadays won't get that. Thank the Lord i can still remember this stuff!
I remember when I used to watch Beauty and the Beast over and over again. And I watched it so much, the "laser disc" (you guys remember that?) just fell apart. Aw, man. And the TV movies! They show at exactly 7:00 and I get soo excited because the movie would be over by my 9:00 PM bedtime. I miss Disney. This (and Harry Potter lol) was my childhood.
I miss the old Disney. I mean sure shows that come on the new Disney channel are appealing to some people but it just isn't Disney. Those shows don"t belong on Disney channel. Disney shows belong there.Disney has more meaning to it than something that is entertaining to kids. It was a magical part of childhood that even parents and the whole family could enjoy. If it weren't for DVDs all these memories would just be lost. Old Disney shows and movies really make me miss my childhood.
@yogaturro the one with the hockey players is Mighty Ducks. The one with the guy in the white shirt hacking away at tentacles is Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Both are pretty good although quite different haha
Why can't Disney show these anymore if there is a Disney producer out there reading this comment I speak for millions please put this back on tv..please for the warm sweet hearts of generations to come just like when I was a kid
I literally cried watching this. It reminds me of how magical Disney used to be. Now, it's just so fuckingly ruined! All they show are Disney nowadays and no Disney back then! If only someone so caring could change Disney the way it was back then.
Oh my gosh, this makes me SO happy. I also remember staying up on Sunday nights to watch this on ABC. I remember when they showed The Little Princess. So many good memories! :)
it's a horrible shame that this show ended. I remember staying up on Sunday nights and always begging my mom to wait till the end of the movie to put me to bed. I specifically remember Toy Story on there.
(sigh) Why in the world are they getting rid of the awesome things? I mean really....
yes! i just love how "when you wish upon a star" fades off into "A whole new World"! *squees* I grew up with this intro! I wish disney would get this back up using this intro! ;_;
Here in Argentina at 8 pm thay play this and then they play a movie, what we call the disney`s classic movies. and it is great, those are movies like pocahontas, the little mermade and that ones.
I remember when i was little i would have to go to bed at 8:00 on school days but on sundays I was allowed to stay up until 9:00 so i could watch The Wonderful World of Disney. Ahhh so many good memories.
I enjoy the new films but come on they're making more teenage films like Cowbelle's,Camp Rock stuff that get the kids dancing and fantisising about cute guys I miss the old films that make you laugh and want to stay young forever.
I remember watching' this on CBC az a kid!!!!!!!! (yes, they do play Wonderful World of Disney on CBC, if u live in Canada, & they still do 2 thiz day, but not az often az b4, though)
I remember this intro - every weekend they played this when a new disney movie was showing on the disney channel for the first time. Not just the new films, but the classics as well. Disney Channel is not the same as it used to be.
I remember those good old days. I remember crying everytime I didn't get my way of watching a disney movie like Flubber or Toy Story, The Parent Trap or Little Mermaid. You don't see movies like those anymore. Disney has gotten so bad now they have stupid Hannah Montana movies and Jonas Brothers having their own 3D movies. It's not the same anymore.
U want this back :( Makes me sad. I remember when I used to have to go to bed at 7pm as a kid and I would see this intro as I went to bed. Then there'd be a movie for a couple hours, and around 9pm-11pm it was classic like Dinousaurs, Home Improvement, Dr Quinn and Touched by and Angel and then at 12pm it would switch off. Remember cartoon network closing down at 9pm around about 1997?
They still play this as the intro for the movies in my country :D <3

Out of all of the Wonderful World of Disney intros, this is one I'm most familiar with.
I love the combination of When You Wish Upon A Star, Disney's most iconic song, and A Whole New World, Disney's most memorable song from the '90s.
It's a great combination of two Academy Award winning songs ;)
