@Spirifiume I'm not saying I disagree, but as an EFL teacher and a linguophile, I felt I had to respond. Translation can be very difficult, even if you know both languages. There are terms in some languages which don't even exist in others, and to try and make a good translation of this can be quite a task. This is especially so for languages dissimilar in their roots (e.g. English and Arabic.) Translation can be very difficult and to say that it's not is a poor way to justify your argument.

But I doubt that the content and context of the translation of a classic arab text will deviate so much from the original text as to the extend that the translation gives a totally wrong and mutilated picture of the original, as islamic people often claim.
In this special case the verses are supposed to come from god and of course the allknowing god will make sure that the required translations are perfect.

@Spirifiume Many muslims come to the west because of wars in their countries, usually started by the west or because of the corruption of their political leaders that the west gave and kept in power so that they could get cheap resources. Take a look at the history, most muslim countries were controlled and colonized by the west until the 1960's and when they left they made sure a leader who would act in their interest stayed in power.

Qur'an was created in Arabic because it is the most powerful language at all time and because of that Qur'an remains intact (one version till the day of judgment) but for the bible (many versions) and (lost in translation) over the years, so the real bible is lost.
However, if you are really looking for the truth, then you won't bother learning the language of the single version Qur'an.

@Spirifiume I'm not saying I disagree, but as an EFL teacher and a linguophile, I felt I had to respond. Translation can be very difficult, even if you know both languages. There are terms in some languages which don't even exist in others, and to try and make a good translation of this can be quite a task. This is especially so for languages dissimilar in their roots (e.g. English and Arabic.) Translation can be very difficult and to say that it's not is a poor way to justify your argument.

But I doubt that the content and context of the translation of a classic arab text will deviate so much from the original text as to the extend that the translation gives a totally wrong and mutilated picture of the original, as islamic people often claim.
In this special case the verses are supposed to come from god and of course the allknowing god will make sure that the required translations are perfect.

@Spirifiume Many muslims come to the west because of wars in their countries, usually started by the west or because of the corruption of their political leaders that the west gave and kept in power so that they could get cheap resources. Take a look at the history, most muslim countries were controlled and colonized by the west until the 1960's and when they left they made sure a leader who would act in their interest stayed in power.
