  • the american indians take the scalp of the enemy after killing them, but for the igorot they s take its head and have them dangled in their territory as warning not to mess with them. igorots are the most fearful and stubborn tribe of the philippines, great culture.

  • Great feast, culture and beliefs

  • there are many cultures in the philippines, mostly oriental culture but there are cultures like this that are like the rest of southeast asia

    asian pride

  • i think a bullet to the brain wouldve been more humane way to kill a pig then that

  • nice vid! thanks for sharing waltwide... this is how we do it... Im lucky to be an Igorota..

  • i like how we filipinos use the banana leaves as plates and to cook things haha nice vid

  • Ine! ay into pay ebes nan inayan Dangwa,ay awni obpay es ta mauto sapay mendapdapdapig ay dumateng.Ay koto ino egay koto?he he

  • takim barbarian ta matam umay ka dty sagada ta kitam t style mi nga igorot tarantado awan t amammom ag sao kapay taki kan

  • yeah..you are right..i should have watched the entire video..and look at the windows of the house nearby, its basically sagada style...

  • only in the philippines...this is the legacy that proves our forefathers bravery to ward off the westerners' attempt to erase the very fiber of our identity as genuine ygorottes. these people am sure are from besao mountain province as their intonation dictates. i'm from there too.

  • Nope you are absolutely mistaken..these people are from Denmark not from Besao(US).Their intonation is typically sagadians met ah!well, just clarifyning.thanks

  • SIA DADLO SA. Aye ka pay ta ma-id iman nabutyogan ken datona. Maka-pa-apal ngarud.

The chants/dirges remind me of home.

  • ay adi

  • Wait until the Health Inspector sees this!

They're surely going to lose their restaurant license.

  • excuse me...what restaurant are you talking about...they are performing their ritual because its their way of living...in fact, their location is not a restaurant...Obviously....

  • i think Vamoalla was being sarcastic my friend,I visited Banaue and Sagada in 2006 it was great, I was lucky to witness an Igorot ritual myself, they sacrificed some animals to the 'rice gods'

  • it reminds me of my grandfather a pure igorot... nice video...

    i miss mt province also....

  • truely igorot culture.... great video.

  • Long Live the Igorots!!!

How beautiful to see my people maintain their religion as contrary to the White man's religion which is so predominant in the lowlands and other colonially contaminated areas. We should do more to preserve our heritage and our way of life which is getting polluted as time goes by. What a shame to learn that some of my brethren are even ashamed of admitting their ethnic background.

  • sorry... i speak ilocano but they din't sound

similar to it..and by the way mt. province is located in central luzon...they speak different dialect...check your map. the only thing i don't like in the video is when they kill the animals...it's ridiculous! the animal

humane society probably react to this scene

if they see it ...this is from canada.

  • maydom04,

no, mt. province is not located in central luzon it is located in the northern part. they're speaking their local dialect but they can speak also ilokano. well your animal humane society has no authority over them cause they're in the phils. not in canada.

  • ridiculous? these people only kill what is needed. They consume eveything, nothing is waisted. You want to see ridiculous act look at the way westerner slaughter their animals for meat(particularly US and Canada) they even made documentary about it it's called "Earthlings".Mass slaughter of cows, chickens, pigs, damn it will make you not consume meat.

  • totally agree with you on this one

  • ridiculous! what ridiculous are talking about? i cordially invite you to research about the life and cultures of my people. you might come to know that my people are more humane than your animal humane society.

  • this event took place in Demang, Sagada, Mountain Province..

  • SPOT ON !!

  • this tribe is not from ifugao

  • I agree , This is somewhere in Mt. Province.

    makapa-iliw nan pinikpikan ya nilagit.

  • ok mabiag di kaigorotan! lets retain our culture and identity. let's fight for it if its necessary. mabiag tako am-in!

  • a tradition that never be forgotten and i wish to be carried to the next generation. ay gawigawis tako am-in. epiyas nan gawis.stoke-on-trent u

  • no they speak ifugaoan... ilocano is the cut up version by the spaniard missionaries (so they can understand it)... the real igorot languages had too much spells... ilocano has spanish words in it... pretty crazy...

  • This is not ifugao, my fren. This is Mt. Province. The dialect sounds Mt. Province.

  • These are Igorots from the Mountain Province. Sagada to be exact. Igorots from the Western Mountain Province towards Ilocos Sur has Ilocano mixed in their dialect. It's called Kankanaey. Very different from the dialect in Bontoc.

  • cultura data.

    naimas topay.

  • are they speaking ilocano?

  • no..but they sound similar to the ilocano because both ilocano and igorots are located up North instead down south in the PI where most Tagalogs are at.

  • Gawis,,,,Gawis,,,,
