What is strange for me: I have been live in Netherlands for 3 years (I'm hungarian), and I talked to sevaral dutch people about the Shocking Blue, but the 70% of them didn't know, that Mariska was from my country. :O :(

I read that this song was never released as a single in the US. That is just crazy. It would have done well as it is as good as or better a song as any that charted at the time. I encourage people to request this song and bug DJs until they play it. Maybe it can chart since most people are unfamiliar with it here it would be new to them. Would be long overdue recognition.

I was born in 1968 and grew up, mostly, in San Francisco (Hayes Valley then later in the Mission district all in the decade of the 70s), and so just new to life and around 7 or 8 heard 'Venus' among other songs and thought it was rocking. I had no idea that they had other numbers more dynamic and with tunes put well together, such as this number.
