snes rpg are the best... i don't know why but i hate modern rpgs, it looks like they try to impress you as much as possible with a shitload of visual informations during the battles... and the music doesn't sound as creative and personnal

ouch..well if you have a Nintendo Wii you can buy both games for just a few bucks. Wii has this fairly new thing called "Virtual Console" on their shop where they re-released the best old school games. Not only SNES, but NES, Sega Genesis, and other original consoles. If you have a 'modified' Wii (like me =D) you can go to Wiiso.com and download the Virtual Console games for free.

I quite literally can't imagine growing up even a few years later and everything still feeling the same...those days were really magical for some reason - everything seemed to glow - and I'm sure a lot of people that were in their early teens when Chrono Trigger came out will agree...:)

I didn't own an SNES (went the Sega Genesis route). I first played Chrono Trigger in 2001 when it got released on PS1. I played it for 18-hours straight and called out of work the next day to do it again. Chrono Trigger was better to me than Final Fantasy VII and I didn't think that was possible.

Chrono Trigger is one of the best games ever, maybe even the Greatest of all Time!!!

Music and stories are 1000 times more powerful.

Hopefully this obsession will die out when graphics become 100% lifelike, then they can't go bananas over that anymore and need to impress with something else.

i remember just standing there on the map hearing this song. the characters would make faces and move if they just stood there. it think the developers knew how good the songs were and that we would just freeze the game to listen to them and made those funny sprites move. also when you open the menu the song still plays. just love this game. if the 80's was the best decade in music, then the 90's was the best one in video games, in my opinion.

There's only one song that could beat this in terms of chrono trigger Overworld themes, and that would be Guardia Forest. But I was entranced by this song when I first heard it, and especially when it played at the end of the ending theme. Its such a beautiful theme...................I just can't say anymore. It's too dificult to describe, its like it connects on an emotional level with the player.

I love Crono Trigger. One of my favorite parts of the story where the ironic fates of the three gurus. The guru of time was thrust out of it (and into the end of time). The guru of life died in a desolate wasteland. And the guru of reason made weapons to save lives, knowing that while weapons save lives, they do it by ending others.
