The term 'homosexuals' is often used as a tool to dehumanize that vast, diverse group of people.
It's the same thing that serial killers do with their victims so as to remove the emotional connection that keeps them from wanting to harm in the first place.
Just call us "gay people." Because we are people, after all. And a lot of us are very spiritual and religious and want nothing more than the love of God, equal to the passion of anyone else.
