I'm hoping you can answer this soon as I am looking to purchasing this or not. But my question is, can I use all iPods now? Most of the answers were dated to about a year ago when the last answer said it "only" supports Audio Playback with 2nd Gen iPod. Have there been any updates to allow me to utilize my iPod(s), and iPod Nano 4th, 5th, and 6th generations? Both have Voice their own voice folder and playback.
I have just purchased this one mainly for singing. However, when I sing specially on high notes, I am constatntly receiving distortion in the sound output. When mentioned to Alesis, they just replaced the power supply, however, the distortion is still there. I am very disappointed. Please can you advise?
it's XLR... but if you don't know what that is, say like, the diffrence between a symmetric and assymetric cable, you better do some research about audio, cables used, recording methods etc before bying or "trying" to do something on your own... ;) good luck
Is anybody else getting the sound of the ipod hard drive stuck in their mix when recording to the ipod? This is the first time I have done a clean instrument recording to the ipod and in the silence i can hear the Freaking pod running.
you can record a backing track to ipod, then play over it, but your new track cannot be mixed(recorded) into the old one, you can only play over it. You could mix in a backing track from another source input and mix them to the Ipod. you will need to hook it up to a PC to do REAL multitrack recording. mine came with Cubase LE4
Unless a guitar has a built-in preamp, such as an Electro Acoustic guitar, then the sound will need some sort of amplification before it enters the mixer.
They took a step back from the multimix 2.0? That's counter productive...
Question though:
How are the actual effects on it? I have a line6 interface and the effects sound twangy and very digital and cheap. Will this sound any better with the built in effects?
How many outputs will I have if I plug this into my computer? Will it be just a two output stero mix or will I get all 8 channels?

@thepandefamily Power supply will have nothing to do with sound. how is your unit setup?
the solution could be as easy as turning down the gain on the mic, or adjusting the pre if your using effects.

Is it possible to record more than one guitar part in that exact same song?
I mean like, you hear the song in the background again and you add like a lead guitar or a rythm guitar , or a drum track etc.
Johnlnw 2 years ago
Yes, by using the usb hookup and the
cubase software. I'm pretty sure you mean
overdubbing. To monitor a previous track
and record a new track without changing the original adding a instrument or voice etc.

does the guitar just connect straight up to the mixer o does it hav to gothrough an amp or something?

like 2 amp cables going from guitar to amp via out and input?
fitzy336 2 years ago
Yes you can plug into input one or
two and just adjust the gain. I plug
my electric into it all the time for straight
recording you do need to add a distortion pedal for distortion. Otherwise it has pretty
decent effects like chorus etc.
