I understand Beltoise was handicapped by an arm injury he sustained in a previous accident and they say that the rain made the BRM easier to drive for him. EASIER ?!?!
Rain in Monaco is basically undrivable conditions, especially back then. Also the BRM V12 was powerful but surely less suited to rain than the very flexible Cosworth DFV V8.
So you're right,, rain sure didn't make his race easier.
