Kinda interesting, maybe a bit on the rough side technically speaking. Fun fact (just 'cause) Roman Catholic priests only use unleavened bread for Communion. Byzantine Catholics use leavened. It seems silly, but I just felt that I should throw that out there.

The production value on this show is awesome! The images are stunning and the camera angles are brilliant. It brings the graphic novel genre to life ....which I think is the goal...
The acting is also true to form! A graphic novel people!!!!! Misha is an artist with simple looks. Divine is brilliant, massive and stoic as all hell (pun intended!) Jin is the genre perfect smart mouth
@syfysuperfan ...also, people like PurpleSpill - move out of your mom's basement, trying talking with another human IN PERSON (scary thought I know but try), and spend a little less time looking for something to bitch about! If you don't like something - move on!! Opinion voiced ....then re-voiced ...then ..well you beat a dead and dull horse!
I, and many others, who seek the positive, love the show! Feed us more! Can't wait to learn what's going on!
Go on about Misha and the cast all you like, I however am in love with this camera work! The composition of a lot of these shots would be stellar comic panels, they're just gorgeous! Lighting's a bit on the dark side, but you can still make out what's going on. I love the ramshackle church too, the mismatched chairs are a nice touch. This all feels a little Neverwherey with the tone and I've been itching for something like that for a long, long time. Love to cast and crew. Hope you have fun!

Once I told him what does he thinks about the rainbow people (i.e. Gay) he says they are boring and need to get a life. I said why? he says because they like to watch Sex in the city and that makes them boring.
Its actually a good start. But needed some improvement. Misha is better here then his other 'indie' film. I'm not saying coz I'm a fan. I'm just saying as is. I think he manage to portray a person who doesn't know the actual story but still do his job anyway. Writings need to improve. The girl doesn't need to curse all the time & I don't think she brought a believable character. I think Ivan is trying to aim for the comic book feel but yeah needs some more scrubbing.

I am not really sure this whole "web series" idea is not just an excuse to palm off low quality, sub par ideas that can't get produced any other way. As much as we all claim to be unhappy with the quality of modern television, if it were easy to come up with watchable programming, everybody would make their own tv shows! Divine needs major retooling, unless there is a significant change in writing and production quality between now and its second part.

Well I guess this proves Misha fangirls will love anything their "minion master" throws out because this was just terrible! The other priest's acting was nothing short of B Movie terrible. The blood - too much (not humanly possible & thus laughably bad!) Widescreen format for something meant for YouTube - is the director mentally challenged?!
This is a bad start to the series. I was somewhat excited about this but damn, that was worse than I thought possible.
@mastergyup I'm inclined to agree. I mean, the most irritating thing was the cheesy, porno-level acting of all parties, but particulatly the tropy little Anime schoolgirl. I'd bet money she's delivered lines around a mouthful of jizz, at some point. I, too was looking forward to this, joined up with the site and everything--but like most amature projects, no one contacted me beyond my initial sign-up. I will watch one more ep before I give up in utter disgust, but man! What a snoozefest!

I really enjoyed it. For the people complaining, fair enough, not everybody is entitled to like it but at least admit the series are well done. It didn't look gore, looked realistic, the acting was good. We all know how good Misha is and I'm glad to see him in something like this. This kind of parts suit him a lot. I can't wait for the second episode

I thought there were quite a few negative reviews of this... but then I looked closer and it was just one user "Purplespill" who has posted over a dozen times.
I thought it was pretty good, the production value was very good, the suspense part (rather than having everything dumbed down and handed on a silver platter) was good. The girl's acting was not good, Deacon Jim's first couple of lines made me think he wasn't going to be good.... but once he wasn't talking with the girl he was good.
Hrm, this got me intrigued. Look forward to seeing more. I really like the visual style and effects so far. They make the series look like a noir comic book.
This is bizarre. I'm not sure whether to blame the prosthetics/makeup, the acting of everyone but Misha or the godawful music which doesn't fit the mood at all, but I'm not sure whether to put this down to something quirky or just plainly terrible. ...yeah, I think I'll go with terrible. That asian chick, just.... the deacon wasn't *as* bad, but his accent is very distracting. Winced during his whole performance during the blessing though. x.O
~ I do not have a priest!kink (12 years of catholic school with fat Father Dan does not allow me to go there) but misha looked beautiful and his acting was alarmingly moving and flawless as usual. his face! you can read everything on that face of his. He doesn't even have to speak, he's just that good.
I loved Misha's performance. When Deacon Jim (I snorted at the name because..Jimmy Novak.. yeah I don't know, funny to me) swiped the altar for the guy, he's all WTF and looks like he wants to slap someone into making sense, but of course he can't because, hello, dying man here. I honestly cannot wait for more. Also, I agree with the people who commented on the woman's performance. It was unnatural/too seemingly forced. How did she even haul the guy to the priests' doorstep? Overall, intriguing.
At first, I didn't like the beginning- mostly because of the girl. Most of her lines, her acting in general was very... forced. It didn't seem right. Just... out of place. Afterwards, however- it was amazing. As a web show and not a television based program, it was well done, and held such an air of suspense, it made me want to watch more. And then I was reminded of the woman being there, and sorta just went: GO AWAY... >>;
It's an old-timey Christian thing called self-flagellation, not just random masochism, if that helps. It's a (rather extreme) form of penitence. I'm interested to see what he's done that he thinks is so bad...
Well I'm ready to watch whatever comes next with a nice open mind. This seemed intriguing. It is a web series, done on the cheap so I don't think it is fair to demand a ful cast of great actors. Also it's not fair to judge the actors so quickly. And hey, it's got Misha so who's going to be looking at anyone else really? As far as does a web series work? Well I really like that more obscure, low profile things can get out there in the world. But I think the episodes should be longer. Can't wait

I'm not being harsh; low budget is no excuse for poor acting skills and sloppy execution and confusing plot points. Even if I could forgive the very fake looking blood, what the excuse for the poor acting? The unrealistic way Misha reacts to seeing a man brought back to life? The way the girl and priest don't tell him what's going on, and yet he is perfectly okay with this? Where the hell did the girl go in the last few minutes? No, saying it's low budget and a web series is a terrible excuse.
Further more, there was absolutely nothing explained here; this is the pilot episode, the episode that is supposed to entice the viewers and have them begging for more. When I watched the first episode of Supernatural, I loved it and couldn't wait to watch the next one, and I sat in my room for a week watching the first 4 seasons. THIS episode makes me confused and irritated. If not for Misha I wouldn't have even watched it, and I'm going to watch the 2nd episode to see if it picks up.

Either way, this episode was very poorly put together and it's insulting to say that it's due to low budget or because it's a web series. There are plenty of web series or low budget movies/tv shows out there that are amazing, and I was hoping this would be one of them. I'm just so disappointing at how sloppily put together this is and what made Misha Collins think that this would be a good way to entice us into wanting more.

@AylinSpn@AylinSpn There IS poor acting. Misha was fine from what I can tell but I already know he is a good actor. The girl and the preacher, however, sucked horrible. The woman espeically overshot everything she said it felt forced.
It's unrealistic because Misha just stood there looking confused but not looking for answers. Anyone witnessing that would not just stand around seeming a bit disturbed but otherwise accepting of the situation. I could accept him not doing anything until the man was actually healed, but afterword when he passed out on the alter Misha didn't even ask what was going on and the girl and preacher gave no explanation.

You are once again wrong, the pilot episode is supposed to be THE episode that draws viewers in. If not for the rabid Supernatural following, it wouldn't have had as much views. It's supposed to MAKE people want to watch the next episode. This was nothing bu confusion and poorly executed structure.
@PurpleSpill I disagree. For me, this episode was incredibly intriguing and made me desperately wish the next episode was up. I enjoyed the confusion. What can I say, I love shows (and movies and stories) that make me go 'WTF is going on here?!' I also like my acting and dialogue a little on the cheesy side, but only in shows/movies about the paranormal.

Further more, I have every right to voice my opinion. I didn't insult them or say anything disrespectful, if you can't handle my opinions I'm sure you can ignore me. I'm simply saying why I didn't like it and they are just as valid as your reasons for liking it. I dislike it because of the bad acting (what little we saw) and the poor way they chose to have the characters react and how this episode didn't actually reveal anything nor introduce us to what we should be expecting in future episodes
I'm sure they did work hard; hard work doesn't mean good results and to me this is poor. I will watch the 2nd episodes but that is ONLY because I love Misha Collins and I want to see if this can be saved.

The girl doesn't need to curse all the time & I don't think she brought a believable character. I think Ivan is trying to aim for the comic book feel but yeah needs some more scrubbing.

I am not really sure this whole "web series" idea is not just an excuse to palm off low quality, sub par ideas that can't get produced any other way. As much as we all claim to be unhappy with the quality of modern television, if it were easy to come up with watchable programming, everybody would make their own tv shows! Divine needs major retooling, unless there is a significant change in writing and production quality between now and its second part.

Well I guess this proves Misha fangirls will love anything their "minion master" throws out because this was just terrible! The other priest's acting was nothing short of B Movie terrible. The blood - too much (not humanly possible & thus laughably bad!) Widescreen format for something meant for YouTube - is the director mentally challenged?!
This is a bad start to the series. I was somewhat excited about this but damn, that was worse than I thought possible.

@mastergyup I'm inclined to agree. I mean, the most irritating thing was the cheesy, porno-level acting of all parties, but particulatly the tropy little Anime schoolgirl. I'd bet money she's delivered lines around a mouthful of jizz, at some point. I, too was looking forward to this, joined up with the site and everything--but like most amature projects, no one contacted me beyond my initial sign-up. I will watch one more ep before I give up in utter disgust, but man! What a snoozefest!

I really enjoyed it. For the people complaining, fair enough, not everybody is entitled to like it but at least admit the series are well done. It didn't look gore, looked realistic, the acting was good. We all know how good Misha is and I'm glad to see him in something like this. This kind of parts suit him a lot. I can't wait for the second episode

I thought there were quite a few negative reviews of this... but then I looked closer and it was just one user "Purplespill" who has posted over a dozen times.
I thought it was pretty good, the production value was very good, the suspense part (rather than having everything dumbed down and handed on a silver platter) was good. The girl's acting was not good, Deacon Jim's first couple of lines made me think he wasn't going to be good.... but once he wasn't talking with the girl he was good.

This is bizarre. I'm not sure whether to blame the prosthetics/makeup, the acting of everyone but Misha or the godawful music which doesn't fit the mood at all, but I'm not sure whether to put this down to something quirky or just plainly terrible. ...yeah, I think I'll go with terrible. That asian chick, just.... the deacon wasn't *as* bad, but his accent is very distracting. Winced during his whole performance during the blessing though. x.O

I loved Misha's performance. When Deacon Jim (I snorted at the name because..Jimmy Novak.. yeah I don't know, funny to me) swiped the altar for the guy, he's all WTF and looks like he wants to slap someone into making sense, but of course he can't because, hello, dying man here. I honestly cannot wait for more. Also, I agree with the people who commented on the woman's performance. It was unnatural/too seemingly forced. How did she even haul the guy to the priests' doorstep? Overall, intriguing.

At first, I didn't like the beginning- mostly because of the girl. Most of her lines, her acting in general was very... forced. It didn't seem right. Just... out of place. Afterwards, however- it was amazing. As a web show and not a television based program, it was well done, and held such an air of suspense, it made me want to watch more. And then I was reminded of the woman being there, and sorta just went: GO AWAY... >>;
But that's just my personal opinion. :]
Overall, I rather enjoyed it.

Well I'm ready to watch whatever comes next with a nice open mind. This seemed intriguing. It is a web series, done on the cheap so I don't think it is fair to demand a ful cast of great actors. Also it's not fair to judge the actors so quickly. And hey, it's got Misha so who's going to be looking at anyone else really? As far as does a web series work? Well I really like that more obscure, low profile things can get out there in the world. But I think the episodes should be longer. Can't wait

I'd feared it being so short... maybe double the length for the other episodes? I'll still watch it, of course. Even with "ordinary" series, it sometimes takes more than just a few episodes for it to pick up the pace. And let's be honest.. everyone's going to compare it to Supernatural, which is kind of unfair.

I'm not being harsh; low budget is no excuse for poor acting skills and sloppy execution and confusing plot points. Even if I could forgive the very fake looking blood, what the excuse for the poor acting? The unrealistic way Misha reacts to seeing a man brought back to life? The way the girl and priest don't tell him what's going on, and yet he is perfectly okay with this? Where the hell did the girl go in the last few minutes? No, saying it's low budget and a web series is a terrible excuse.

Further more, there was absolutely nothing explained here; this is the pilot episode, the episode that is supposed to entice the viewers and have them begging for more. When I watched the first episode of Supernatural, I loved it and couldn't wait to watch the next one, and I sat in my room for a week watching the first 4 seasons. THIS episode makes me confused and irritated. If not for Misha I wouldn't have even watched it, and I'm going to watch the 2nd episode to see if it picks up.

Either way, this episode was very poorly put together and it's insulting to say that it's due to low budget or because it's a web series. There are plenty of web series or low budget movies/tv shows out there that are amazing, and I was hoping this would be one of them. I'm just so disappointing at how sloppily put together this is and what made Misha Collins think that this would be a good way to entice us into wanting more.

It's unrealistic because Misha just stood there looking confused but not looking for answers. Anyone witnessing that would not just stand around seeming a bit disturbed but otherwise accepting of the situation. I could accept him not doing anything until the man was actually healed, but afterword when he passed out on the alter Misha didn't even ask what was going on and the girl and preacher gave no explanation.

You are once again wrong, the pilot episode is supposed to be THE episode that draws viewers in. If not for the rabid Supernatural following, it wouldn't have had as much views. It's supposed to MAKE people want to watch the next episode. This was nothing bu confusion and poorly executed structure.

What can I say, I love shows (and movies and stories) that make me go 'WTF is going on here?!'
